A couple of things are anons sure it was marvel universe or could it go back to when marvel had other companies doing their movies like lionsgate or even sony. Just because it is a marvel movie. He is currently 43 and if this was years ago just based on his look. I would suspect he might have been cast as Winter Soldier that would point then to the first Captain America, but this is just wild speculation. Unless it was a bit part he was being cast for but thinking it was a heavier role.
Maybe, I guess matthew could have played Star Lord but don't think that would fit. Bucky in terms of look and age range would be more appropriate. Especially if he bulked up a little bit. It may even go back to the Fantastic Four movies, maybe even Human Torch. James Gunn has issues but in order to see that more you would need to look at his old Troma films and look at Kaufman as well.
