What did we lose in 1909?
Could it have been the fabled "atmospheric energy?"
I saw a video of San Francisco claiming to be from 1906 where there seemed to be widescale "free energy" powering the rail cars. There's other media out there with photographs of different structures that have large cast iron spheres supposedly filled with mercury as a means of harnessing energy from the atmosphere somehow.

Clearly you are making a bunch of assumptions and have no idea what I do or do not know.
These "cable cars" had no attached cables and freely moved. Check out the photo and also please enlighten me as to what those Tesla Coil-style antennas are, yeah?
