CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Less than 24 hours after a crash that injured GOP congressional candidate Katie Arrington, the son of the woman in the other vehicle who was killed is speaking out.

Helen White's son, Samuel, was woken up by the news Friday night while he was sleeping. Samuel White lives just four trailers down from his mom in Ravenel, less than a mile from the scene of the crash on Highway 17.

"My mom, she had her own ways, but she was a loving person, she was starting to get it together,"

Not going to argue that her car wan't comped, but sounds like she had personal struggles of some sort, from her son's description: "Starting to get it together."
