‘Life and death situation’: Unvaccinated mum challenges hospital’s ‘no jab, no heart’ policy

A mum-of-two being denied a lifesaving transplant under a “no jab, no heart” policy claims she is being “punished” for refusing the Covid vaccine.

A Melbourne mum being denied a lifesaving transplant under a “no jab, no heart” policy has accused the hospital of “ideological” discrimination for refusing the Covid vaccine.

Vicki Derderian, 47, has been on mechanical life support since 2020 after her heart failed and is desperate for a transplant, but The Alfred Hospital deemed her ineligible to be placed on the organ donor waiting list because she is not vaccinated against Covid.

“I think it’s a form of punishment,” she said.

“They’re set in their ways — basically it’s ‘no jab, no heart’. There is no long-term study on the efficacy of vaccines on pre- and post-transplant patients. I have a legal exemption from ATAGI which they are refusing to acknowledge.”

Despite widespread public attention on her case, Alfred Health is refusing to budge, offering only to meet with Ms Derderian to discuss her “vaccination concerns”.

The mother-of-two suffers from a rare auto-immune disorder called sarcoidosis and is concerned about the risk of heart conditions such as myocarditis or pericarditis associated with the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines.

Myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, is a known but rare side effect of the mRNA vaccines, reported in around two out of every 100,000 people but more commonly among boys and young men.

Ms Derderian is challenging Alfred Health’s decision in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), alleging discrimination under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

The case was heard over four days between October and March, with closing submissions on Tuesday this week.

Advocate Serene Teffaha, who is representing Ms Derderian, said during the proceedings she asked Alfred Health’s representatives if they were “aware of deaths and serious adverse events” from the vaccines but was told they “haven’t observed” anything.

But in March last year, Deakin University student Natalie Boyce, 21, died at The Alfred from heart complications, five weeks after receiving the Moderna booster shot.

Report: IRS Whistleblower’s Lawyers Meet with Congressional Investigators on Hunter Biden Tax Probe

The lawyers for an IRS whistleblower reportedly met with congressional investigators on the Hunter Biden tax probe to preview information the whistleblower will share with Congress.

Last month, the IRS whistleblower alleged political interference at the Justice Department in its probe of Hunter Biden, who is under investigation by the DOJ for tax fraud, money laundering, and violation of lobbying laws. Prosecutor David Weiss for months has been weighing if there is sufficient evidence for the grand jury to indict him on four reported charges.

The case appeared to quietly stall until an IRS whistleblower alleged the improper politicization of a tax probe into the president’s son. Attorney General Merrick Garland, who appointed Weiss, dismissed those claims last week — even as he refuses to appoint a special counsel to place a degree of separation between the probe and President Joe Biden.

Shortly after the IRS whistleblower came forward, the Ways and Means Committee authorized two lawyers for the IRS whistleblower to collect information about what their client witnessed at the IRS regarding the Hunter Biden tax probe.

On Friday, the lawyers for the whistleblower met with Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee to disclose information the IRS agent could provide to congressional investigators, CNN reported. This step in the process is reportedly a typical procedure in situations involving sensitive tax information.

“The process is proceeding on a bipartisan basis with ranking member [Mike] Crapo’s staff,” Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden’s (D-OR) spokesperson, Ryan Carey, told CNN.

The congressional investigation of the whistleblower’s claims come as Weiss’s investigation is coming to an end without a timetable for a decision, people familiar with the matter told the Washington Post on Wednesday.

If Weiss recommends charges against Hunter Biden, Garland would have to authorize the charges. Garland has vowed Weiss has the autonomy to recommend changes, despite IRS agent claims that Garland misled Congress about the probe’s autonomy.

The probe into Hunter could also implicate Joe Biden. A witness who testified before the grand jury was reportedly asked to identify the “big guy.”

Biden: I’m Making it “Mandatory” For Airlines to Compensate Passengers For Delayed or Canceled Flights with Free Meals, Hotels, Taxis…On Top of the Cost of Refunding Your Ticket

80-year-old Joe Biden delivered remarks for a few minutes on flight delays and cancellations with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Biden’s handlers trotted him out for a few minutes before he shuffled away without answering any questions.

Joe Biden struggled to read his teleprompter and couldn’t even spell the new website his admin just launched.

Then he thought Memorial Day was this weekend.

Joe Biden said he is making it “mandatory” for airlines to compensate passengers for delayed or canceled flights with free meals, hotels, taxis etc.

“Later this year, my administration will propose a historic new rule that will make it mandatory, not voluntary, but mandatory, for all US airlines to compensate you with meals, hotels, taxis, rideshares and rebooking fees – and cash miles and/or travel vouchers whenever they are the ones to blame for the cancelation or delay… and that’s all on top of the cost of refunding your ticket,” Biden said.

Of course the extra costs will just be passed down to the consumers!

Thanks, Joe!
