Reporters covering the crisis at the southern border in El Paso, Texas, were met with insults and threats from illegal immigrants.

An immigrant approached the reporters, clearly displeased, and demanded that they leave his people alone. The immigrant began cursing at Americans and law enforcement after claiming he was given two tickets for helping his countrymen.

“Turn around and leave my people alone,” said the angry immigrant. “I got another fcking ticket for helping my people out. Another fcking ticket, bro. I got two of them this week. First one for giving out water, and for the third one for giving out fcking food [for] helping of my people. Sht. Fck you guys American. Fck El Paso. Fck El Paso PD. Fck the fed, [and] f*ck the Border Patrol.”

Reporter: You start destroying equipment out here? Come up, and start yelling at a camera like a fool and you want to know why people are upset?

Immigrant: Why are you questioning my people, sir?

Reporter: You own them? So you’re an owner?

A second illegal immigrant who refused to be video recorded yelled at the reporters, “Don’t fcking take me mtherf*cker.”

“You’re in America. It’s a free country, okay? So if you don’t want to be on camera. Go home!” one reporter responded.

“So this is what you get when you get illegal entry into this country, guys,” the reporter said at the end of the video. “This is what you get. You get people that disrespect this country, that don’t love this country. And don’t love the freedom. And this is what Joe Biden is bringing in.”

Italy's Meloni To Pull Trigger On Belt & Road Exit In Major Blow To China

The government of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is readying plans to pull the trigger on a formal exit from China's controversial Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), estimated at having funded $900 billion in infrastructure projects globally.

The past weeks have seen increasing reports that Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party has been spearheading a move away from the BRI, though some within the broader center-right coalition unity government have been on the fence. Bloomberg now reports Tuesday that "Italy has signaled to the US that it intends to pull out of a controversial investment pact with China before the end of the year."

"Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reassured US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy during a meeting in Rome last week that while a final decision hasn’t been taken, her government is favoring an exit from its role in China’s massive Belt and Road Initiative, according to people present at the talks," Bloomberg continues. Neither the Italian nor US administrations have yet to give public comment or confirmation to the report.

But Rome could also be hesitant over economic retaliation from Beijing. Ratcheting the pressure over the decision is the European Union's previewing a new package of trade restrictions meant to "punish" China.

As the FT reported Sunday, "Brussels has proposed sanctions on Chinese companies for supporting Russia’s war machine for the first time since the war in Ukraine began, a development that is likely to increase tensions with Beijing."

The list includes a couple mainland Chinese companies - 3HC Semiconductors and King-Pai Technology, as well as five Hong Kong-based firms: Sigma Technology, Asia Pacific Links, Sinno Electronics, Tordan Industry, and Alpha Trading Investments. However, the sanctions package still needs approval by all 27 EU member states to take effect.

An Italy pullout of the BRI would be a significant and also hugely symbolic blow to Beijing, given Italy had been the very first G-7 country became part of the controversial Chinese initiative, crucial to Xi's vision for Chinese global expansion. Italy had formally signed on under then Italian Premier Giuseppe Conte. It's widely perceived that this triggered greater Washington engagement with Rome, in order to steer the country away from Chinese influence.

“Italy is stuck between a rock and a hard place, and what to do with the cooperation pact is a real diplomatic conundrum for Meloni,” Francesca Ghiretti, an analyst at the Mercator Institute for China Studies research company, said in an interview. “Renewing it would send a very difficult message to Washington, but not renewing it would put a strain in relations with China.”

The Italian PM could have an official statement ready to roll out by the time of the May 19-21 Group of 7 summit in Hiroshima.

Ukraine peace talks now impossible – UN chief

Antonio Guterres has told El Pais that both Kiev and Moscow are convinced they can secure a military victory and are therefore unwilling to compromise

There is little chance that Ukraine and Russia will sit at the negotiating table anytime soon, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has told Spain’s El País newspaper, noting that both countries still believe they can achieve their goals militarily.

In an interview published on Monday, Guterres said: “Unfortunately, I believe that peace negotiations are not possible at this time.” He explained that Russia seems unwilling “at the moment to withdraw from the territories it occupies” while “Ukraine is hoping to retake them” by force.

The diplomat added that – despite the circumstances – the UN is nevertheless doing all it can to get Kiev and Moscow to negotiate. He cited the grain deal – whose future is currently hanging in balance as Russia is refusing to renew it past May 18 – as the “most important initiative” so far.

According to Guterres, high-ranking representatives are working to arrange a meeting of the parties involved in Istanbul to extend the deal. The official acknowledged that Moscow’s objections are justified, adding that while the export of food a fertilizers from the country is not under sanctions, it is effectively being blocked by “indirect obstacles that remain.”

Speaking to Türkiye’s Haberturk TV on Sunday, Ibrahim Kalin, a top Turkish presidential adviser on foreign policy, opined that, “This war will not end with positional gains, but with a new security agreement between the two global blocs.” He argued that the current conflict is effectively a conflict between Russia and the collective West, which echoes Moscow’s position.

“This war is not between Russia and Ukraine, but between Russia and the Western bloc. Cold War 2.0,” Kalin explained.

The Turkish official noted, however, that at present there is little chance for dialogue as the current “international climate is in favor of war rather than peace.”

Meanwhile, also on Sunday, Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger told CBS News that the conflict in Ukraine may be approaching a turning point. The veteran diplomat predicted that peace talks under the auspices of China might take place by the end of 2023.

The EU and the US were quick to disregard a twelve-point peace plan proposed by Beijing on the anniversary of the conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed some of the elements of the document, while Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky agreed with some of its points but has maintained the position of not negotiating with Putin’s government.

German chancellor objects to WWII victory parade in Moscow

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has claimed this year’s traditional Victory Day parade in Moscow was used by Russian President Vladimir Putin to flex his military muscles. The German leader also denounced the Kremlin’s actions in Ukraine, urging the EU to prop up Kiev for as long as necessary.

In an address to the European Parliament marking Europe Day on Tuesday, Scholz said that “2,200 kilometers to the north-east of Strasbourg, Putin is parading his soldiers, tanks and missiles.”

The European Union, however, should not be intimidated by the Russian leader’s “posturing,” the German chancellor stated. He called on member states to “remain steadfast in our support for Ukraine – for as long as necessary.”

Scholz also spoke in favor of closer cooperation among EU member states on defense and arms production.

The chancellor stressed the importance of Europe’s alliance with the US as well as the EU’s eastward expansion, with the potential accession of the Western Balkan states, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.

On Tuesday morning, a military parade commemorating the 78th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany was held on Red Square in Moscow.

Speaking at the event, Putin, among other things, accused “globalist elites” of “keeping insisting on their exceptionalism.” These powers, he argued, “provoke bloody conflicts and coups, sow hatred, Russophobia and aggressive nationalism, destroy traditional family values that make a human a human.”

He went on to claim that the US and its allies are seeking to destroy Russia.

“It seems that they have forgotten what the insane ambitions of the Nazis led to,” Putin concluded.

Attending the parade were the leaders of several former Soviet republics, including Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, as well as Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.

In 2010, Scholz’s predecessor Angela Merkel attended a similar Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9. A German delegation led by then-chancellor Gerhardt Schroeder was present at the 2005 military parade on Red Square. Merkel had been expected to appear in 2020 but the Covid pandemic ruled her visit out.

America Last: Biden Regime to Send Ukraine ANOTHER $1.2 Billion in Military Aid – Including Air Defense Systems and Ammunitions

The Biden regime is planning to announce an additional $1.2 billion military aid package for Ukraine on Tuesday, according to a U.S. official per Reuters. The package will include air defense systems, ammunition, and funding for training.

As part of the aid program, funding will be provided for HAWK air-defense systems, as well as ammunition and drones for use in air defense. According to the officials, it would also purchase rockets, artillery, satellite imaging assistance, and funds for regular maintenance and spare parts for various systems.

The package is paid from Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funding which permits the Biden regime to purchase weapons from industry rather than depleting existing U.S. weapons supplies.

It will take longer for the aid to reach Kyiv this way, but it will conserve US supplies better than if it were taken straight from the US military’s stockpiles.

Kevin McCarthy gave his full support to funding the Ukraine War during his trip to Israel.

“I vote for aid for Ukraine, I support aid for Ukraine,” McCarthy said. “I do not support what your country has done to Ukraine, I do not support your killing of the children either.”

“You should pull out and I don’t think it’s right,” the speaker said. “We will continue to support. And I think the rest of the world sees it just as it is.”

Police Arrest Pakistan’s Former Prime Minister Khan Outside Court in Islamabad

Footage on social media, verified by Sky News, shows Imran Khan being dragged along the street by a crowd of security forces, and led into a waiting armoured vehicle.

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, has been arrested, a government minister has said, as supporters of the politician are told to "shut down Pakistan".

Mr Khan is said to have appeared in court in Islamabad on corruption charges.

The charge sheet says Mr Khan "is accused of commission of the offence of corruption and corrupt practices under section 9(a) of the National Accountability Ordinance".

Footage online, verified by Sky News, shows Mr Khan being led into an armoured vehicle by security forces.

This escalation is a big next step in the political crisis Pakistan is currently facing with protests taking place in every major city across the country. Videos seen by Sky News in Pakistan, show army bases being broken into by civilians and army vehicles being set alight in Lahore and Rawalpindi. With the public showing their discontent towards the military, it is an incredibly unsettling and unpredictable 12-48 hours in Pakistan, politically and socially.

A 'high-level' meeting of the Pakistan Army Core-Commanders is scheduled to take place this evening, Army sources have confirmed to Sky News, following the widespread protests.

It comes as the Army HQ in Pakistan advised all officers in a memo to exercise "extreme vigilance" and to "stay put in units".

NIH Renews Controversial Grant To EcoHealth For Coronavirus Bat Study

National Institute of Health (NIH) officials have re-activated a previously terminated $576,290 federal grant to EcoHealth Alliance to study how outbreaks of deadly viruses like SARS, MERS, and now COVID-19 originate from wildlife and transfers to humans.

The move has prompted one Republican lawmaker to demand that NIH explain the decision she described as “absolutely reckless.”

“Most emerging human viruses come from wildlife, and coronaviruses in particular represent a significant threat to public health and biosecurity in the U.S. and globally, as was demonstrated by the SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 outbreaks,” is how the NIH describes the purpose of the renewed grant.

The renewed grant is to be administered through the NIH’s National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the research arm headed for several decades by the recently retired Dr. Anthony Fauci. The description was made public by Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.), who is chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.

“This project seeks to understand what factors allow bat-origin coronaviruses, including close relatives to SARS, to jump into the human population by studying their evolutionary diversity, the patterns of spillover in people that live in high-risk communities, and analyzing characteristics of bat coronaviruses that could allow them to emerge,” the grant description continues.

EcoHealth issued a celebratory statement declaring that the NIH decision “reflects a reversal of the previous termination and suspension of a [grant] awarded in 2019, but halted in April 2020 due to concerns about continuing collaborative laboratory research with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIH).”

Several U.S. agencies and independent scientists have concluded that a leak from within the WIV lab is the most likely source of the COVID-19 pandemic that, to date, has killed more than 1.1 million Americans since January 2020 and in excess of six million people world-wide.
