My dad was in the Korean War too. He was at Chosin. He was a Marine in Fox Co. All those men were called the Frozen Chosin. My dad, like all of those men, almost froze to death. He had frostbite for sure and lost toes. He was eviserated by a Chinese soldier's bayonet and pushed his guts back in..if not for the deadly freezing temps, he would have bled to death for sure. My dad was at Camp Lejune too also Paris Island then back to DC and then home. I struggle with childhood memories of a dad with PTSD but I realize he was really suffering from so much.
