Pentagon announces $1.2 billion Ukraine aid package

The money will go to the military industry for air defense, ammunition and support contracts

US and allied military contractors will soon receive orders forover a billion dollars’ worth of artillery and air-defense ammunitionintended for the government in Kiev, the Department of Defense announced on Tuesday.

The Pentagon described the aid as containing “additional air-defense systems and munitions,” ammunition for anti-drone defenses, 155mm artillery rounds, equipment for integrating Western-supplied air defenses into Ukraine’s network, and “supportfor training, maintenance, and sustainment activities.”

According to the US military, these are intended to meet Ukraine’s “most urgent requirements” by providing “critical near-term capabilities,” bolstering air defenses and sustaining Kiev’s artillery.

However, the ammunitionwill not be sent from Pentagon stockpiles. Instead, the aid is being provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which allows Washington to contract with the US military industry, its allies and partners. Tuesday’s announcement “represents the beginning of a contracting process,” the Pentagon clarified.

The DoD has also released an updated ‘fact sheet’ on the military aid committed by the US to Ukraine under the presidency of Joe Biden – including items that have yet to be delivered, such as M1 Abrams tanks. The total value of the aid exceeds $37.6 billion, of which $700 million was sent prior to February 2022.

According to Russian estimates, the West had supplied $100 billion worth of weapons, ammunition and supplies to the Ukrainian military by the end of 2022. The US and its allies insist they are not directly involved in the conflict, however.

The Pentagon announcement comes amid a standoff between Biden and the Republican-majority House of Representatives over raising the US debt ceiling. Washington is currently running a national debt estimated at over $31 trillion, and will default unless Congress approves a higher debt limit by June 1.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has argued that the debt ceiling needs to be raised in orderto “avoid economic calamity.” She traveled to Kiev in February to declare her commitment to “fortifying” Ukraine, describing the US military and financial aid as “an investment in global security and democracy.”

(Every DOD and Pentagon person that went along with this will never have a job in government or MIC again. They should all be sent to Ukraine to fight in the war with the innocent conscripts to fight a fucking useless war, all of them)

Ukrainian counteroffensive is not a ‘big battle for Middle-earth’ – Zelensky’s aide

Mikhail Podoliak has spoken against treating the ongoing hostilities like a fantasy film (but it is because Ukraine makes it that way Orc!)

.

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine is not a “Hollywood movie,” andone should not expect the looming Kiev counteroffensive to be a turning point in it,President Vladimir Zelensky’s aide Mikhail Podoliak has said.

“When we talk about a counteroffensive, that it will cause a collapse for Russia or, conversely, there will be no gains for Ukraine, it looks like we are in a Hollywood movie, where a big battle for Middle-earth begins and one battle for Gondor will decide everything. Things do not happen like that,” Podoliak said on Tuesday.

The long-hyped offensive is a set of “many events,” some of which may be “more successful, while others – less [successful],”he added.

While the official did not elaborate on how deeply the fantasy version had been embedded into Ukrainian society, over the course of the ongoing conflict,Russian troopshave commonly been referred to by Ukrainian media outlets and officialsalike as ‘orcs’.

Podoliak’s remarks seem to be in line with recent statements by multiple Ukrainian and Western officials, who have urged the publicnot to set their expectations for the long-awaited offensive too high. The operation was originally expected to start in the spring – even as early as in late winter – but has not materialized thus far. (They are admitting they will lose, start negotiating assholes)

Kiev’s top diplomat, Dmitry Kuleba, recently advised against treating the counteroffensive as a make-or-break moment in the whole conflict. Multiple senior US officials have also expresseddoubt that Ukraine will be capable of reaching its proclaimed goal of expelling Russian troopsfrom all the territories it claims as its own anytime soon. Moreover, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby recently warned that Moscow might launch a new offensive of its own shortly.

“In the spring, when the weather improves, and it’s already starting to improve … we can expect the Russians to want to go on the offensive in some areas,” Kirby told the state-run Voice of America outlet on Friday.

(They have no idea what Russia will do, they are always 10 steps ahead of them.)

Ukraine (whines that Russia saved the life of billions and) blasts foreign leaders for attending WW2 victory celebration

Kiev called Moscow’s parade “fake” and accused Russia of war crimes

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday accused leaders of six former Soviet republics who visited Moscow for the Victory Day parade of “immoral and unfriendly” behaviorand being used by Russian President Vladimir Putin for a “fake action” unrelated to victory in WWII. (Ok its immoral that a country sacrificed 50 million Russians to save the world and Ukraine, and unfriendly to honor their sacrifice. Do any of them understand they wouldn’t be here if not for Russia?)

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, Serdar Berdymuhamedov of Turkmenistan and Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan were in attendance at the celebration, marking the 78th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s defeat.

By tradition, Tuesday’s ceremony opened with the=guard of honor carrying the battle flag of the 150th Infantry Division, the banner raised atop the Reichstag on May 2, 1945.

Kiev described the celebration as “the event on the Red Square,” and said the participation of seven leaders amounted to “an immoral and unfriendly act towards Ukraine, demonstrating contempt for the Ukrainian people who are fighting for its survival and freedom.” (You are Nazis of course you think its unfriendly, btw, how is that an insult? When this is over, no one will forget the horrid nature of the animals in Kiev.)

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry accused Putin of being a war criminal and claimed that in his speech, the Russian president “justified killings of Ukrainians, destruction of Ukrainian cities and villages, abduction of Ukrainian children and repressions against residents of occupied Ukrainian territories.” They described the parade as featuring Russian military equipment “which has been used for ten years in Russia’s unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.” (Ukraine Nazis killed 16,000+ innocent ethnic Russians since 2014. You started the war and refused to negotiate so you Ukraine, killed your own people. May the leaders of Ukraine rot in hell!)

Putin told the assembled guests thatRussia bore no ill will for the people of Ukraine, whom he described as “hostages” of the 2014 US-backed coup in Kiev who were used as pawns by the West in its “cruel selfish plans.”

Ukraine’s foreign ministry argued that the people of the Caucasus and Central Asia made “an invaluable contribution to the victory over Nazism 78 years ago” and “do not deserve the fate of being used now by the Kremlin taking part in a fake action that has nothing to do with the feat of the victors over Nazism.”(imaginary stories, as Ukraine and other countries were part of the Soviet Union. Nina Jancowicz trained you in propaganda, it won’t work, everyone knows the history)

The government in Kiev has systematically dismantled monuments to the Red Army as part of its “decommunization” campaign, while denouncing the Soviet Union era as “Russian occupation” and glorifying Nazi collaborators such as Stepan Bandera’s nationalist militia and the ‘Galizien’ division of the Waffen-SS as national heroes.

Ukraine peace talks now impossible –(Useless) UN chief

Antonio Guterres has told El Pais that both Kiev and Moscow are convinced they can secure a military victory and are therefore unwilling to compromise

There is little chance that Ukraine and Russia will sit at the negotiating table anytime soon, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has told Spain’s El País newspaper, noting that both countries still believe they can achieve their goals militarily. (The UN supported this charade of an independent country of Ukraine, he refused to stop the Nazis and Kiev leadership from killing 14,000 innocent ethnic Russians on Donetsk and Lugansk in 2014, the UN backed and allowed this war. The UN wouldn’t investigate the biolabs revealed by Russia, nothing he/they say is credible. The UN is a leach for foreign money, rape and death of innocents around the world!)

In an interview published on Monday, Guterres said: “Unfortunately, I believe that peace negotiations are not possible at this time.” He explained that Russia seems unwilling “at the moment to withdraw from the territories it occupies” while “Ukraine is hoping to retake them” by force. (Guterres they blew up Nordstream 1 & 2 and you did nothing, you all are incapable of anything)

The diplomat added that – despite the circumstances – the UN is nevertheless doing all it can to get Kiev and Moscow to negotiate. He cited thegrain deal– whose future is currently hanging in balance as Russia is refusing to renew it past May 18 – as the “most important initiative” so far. (This is the most pathetic thing this asshole can say, Ukraine broke the deal and doesn’t send grain to poor countries. Stopping a war is much more important)

According to Guterres, high-ranking representatives are working to arrange a meeting of the parties involved in Istanbul to extend the deal. The official acknowledged that Moscow’s objections are justified, adding that while the export of food and fertilizers from the country is not under sanctions, it is effectively being blocked by “indirect obstacles that remain.”

Speaking to Türkiye’s Haberturk TV on Sunday, Ibrahim Kalin, a top Turkish presidential adviser on foreign policy, opined that, “This war will not end with positional gains, but with a new security agreement between the two global blocs.” He argued that thecurrent conflict is effectively a conflict between Russia and the collective West, which echoes Moscow’s position.

“This war is not between Russia and Ukraine, but between Russia and the Western bloc. Cold War 2.0,” Kalin explained.

The Turkish official noted, however, that at present there is little chance for dialogue as the current “international climate is in favor of war rather than peace.”

Meanwhile, also on Sunday, Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger told CBS News that the conflict in Ukraine may be approaching a turning point. The veteran diplomat predicted that peace talks under the auspices of China might take place by the end of 2023.

The EU and the US were quick to disregard a twelve-point peace plan proposed by Beijing on the anniversary of the conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed some of the elements of the document, while Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky agreed with some of its points but has maintained the position of not negotiating with Putin’s government.

(All of these parties are useless, a grain deal is not better than stopping a war!)

Serbian president reveals what West wants him to do

Aleksandar Vucic said any visiting Western representative starts by demanding that Belgrade slaps sanctions on Moscow

The West has not given up on steamrolling Serbia into imposing sanctions on Russia, the country’s president, Aleksandar Vucic, has revealed. However, he said Belgrade has so far been able to resist the pressure.

Speaking to Serbia’s Happy TV channel on Monday, Vucic said that “whoever comes [to Belgrade feels their]first obligation is to explain to me that I am a jerk who did not introduce sanctions.”

The Serbian head of state acknowledged that he had already gotten used to constant “pressure [and] ultimatums” from Western representatives.

Last month, the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee slammed Serbia for its failure to join the EU sanctions against Russia, and urged Belgrade to shut down Russian “disinformation” outlets, including RT Balkans.

The US State Department also called for a ban on the media outlet, which began broadcasting in November 2022.

Speaking in mid-March, President Vucic reiterated thathis government’s “position is to not impose sanctions” on Moscow over its actions in Ukraine. He made it clear that this could be changed only in “circumstances when there is no way out.”

His remark came in response to calls made earlier that month by the country’s Economy Minister Rade Basta on social media. Basta argued that Belgrade should impose punitive measures because Western pressure was becoming unbearable.

The minister quickly came under fire from within his own party for his comments.

Serbia has resisted pressure from the EU and the US to sanction Russia, citing, among other things, the apparent discrepancy between Western demands thatBelgrade recognize the independence of the breakaway province of Kosovo and their simultaneous insistence on Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

(Clintons did this, they will never admit it was a distraction from his impeachment.)
