Elon Musk Warns Users That Zuckerberg’s “WhatsApp” Cannot Be Trusted, Here’s What He Said About The Messaging Platform…

Elon Musk posted a warning on Twitter regarding WhatsApp after a Twitter user posted that the site was violating their privacy by accessing their phone’s microphone.

100 Percent Fed Up reports – Twitter user Foad Dabri is Twitter’s director of engineering. He posted a photo documenting his WhatsApp timeline showing the company had overstepped on its access to his phone’s mic.

Musk responded directly, saying, “WhatsApp cannot be trusted.”

he WhatsApp Company also responded to the Twitter post, saying they had been in touch with the Twitter engineer who posted the issue with WhatsApp. The company attempted to write the issue off as a simple bug, saying they had asked Google to look into it,

“We believe this is a bug on Android that misattributes information in their Privacy Dashboard and have asked Google to investigate and remediate.”

More and more, everyday Americans are concerned with maintaining their privacy. Meta, Mark Zuckerberg’s company, purchased the messaging service WhatsApp in 2014; Meta also owns Facebook and Instagram.

In 2018 Senator Gary Peters, a Michigan Democrat, asked Zuckerberg a direct question about whether or not Facebook was listening to platform users, which some called a “conspiracy theory.” The accusation was that Facebook listened to users’ conversations so they could target advertising.

PETERS: Yes or no: Does Facebook use audio obtained from mobile devices to enrich personal information about its users?

ZUCKERBERG: No.

According to Mediaite, Zuckerberg’s response was aimed at the “conspiracy theory” and went on to note that there is an audio component for users who post video footage, which “was a bit of an unnecessary clarification, though, given that the question was about surreptitious recording, not something users were explicitly recording media to share.”

Musk’s vague warning about the messaging platform continued in a follow-up Tweet. He said,

“WhatsApp founders left Meta/Facebook in disgust, started the #deletefacebook campaign, and made major contributions to building Signal. What they learned about Facebook and changes to WhatsApp obviously disturbed them greatly.”

Natalie Winters: House Committee to Reveal Evidence Biden Received Money From Romania While Vice President

The House Oversight Committee led by Rep. James Comer (R-KY) is set to reveal at a Wednesday morning press conference (9 a.m. EDT) that it has evidence Joe Biden received money from Romania while vice president, according to a report by Natalie Winters Tuesday evening on Steve Bannon’s War Room Battleground.

Winters said the committee has records that from 2015 to 2017 Biden received over a million dollars from a Romanian company that was sent “through a variety of family associates” from an individual named Gabriel Popoviciu.

Winters also said the committee will show how the Biden family created numerous shell LLC companies and others created by Biden family associates to funnel money from “Chinese communist party controlled entities” to members of the Biden family.

Winters said that Romania is the country at the heart of a whistleblower complaint revealed last week accusing Biden of taking money while vie president from a foreign business in exchange for favorable policy decisions.

In interviews leading up to Wednesday’s press conference, Comer has spoken about the web of LLCs laundering money from foreign entities to at least nine Biden family members. Video of Comer on Sunday Morning Futures tow days ago:

City planning rainbow crosswalk to honor '2SLGBTQIA+ community' disables comments on Twitter post about the project

The City of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, is planning to create a rainbow crosswalk in a show of support for those who identify a "2SLGBTQIA+."

Guelph posted a tweet on Monday soliciting comments from the public about how the city can make people feel safe as well as celebrated — the tweet includes the link to a site where people can share their thoughts. On Tuesday, the city appended another post announcing that comments had been disabled on the tweet.

"We’re installing a rainbow crosswalk this month and we want to hear what you need from us as a City to feel included, safe and celebrated in Guelph. Comments are anonymous. Let us know here by May 14," the city tweeted on Monday, providing a link to the haveyoursay.guelph.ca website. "We have turned off comments on this post to ensure that all those who view it can do so in an environment that is respectful to all," the city added in a tweet on Tuesday.

'Donald Trump is a risk America can never take again': Former Rep. Liz Cheney targets former president in ad

Former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming is targeting former President Donald Trump in an advertisement.

"Rather than accept his defeat, he mobilized a mob to come to Washington and march on the Capitol. Then he watched on television while the mob attacked law enforcement, invaded the Capitol, and hunted the vice president," Cheney claims in a voiceover on the ad from The Great Task. "Donald Trump has proven he is unfit for office. Donald Trump is a risk America can never take again," she says.

Cheney, a vocal Trump critic who lost her 2022 GOP primary contest to Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman, was one of the 10 House GOP lawmakers who voted to impeach Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Cheney also went on to serve as one of the two Republicans on the House Select Committee that was supposed to investigate the Jan. 6 episode.

Trump is running for president again during the 2024 election cycle, but he is facing competition from several Republican figures have also announced White House bids, and others may announce in the future.

Tucker Carlson Announces New Platform For His Show

Former Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson announced Tuesday his show will air exclusively on Twitter going forward.

Carlson tweeted a short video breaking the news about where his program will air. “You often hear people say the news is full of lies. But most of the time that’s not exactly right. Much of what you see on television or read in The New York Times is in fact true in the literal sense,” he began.

“But that doesn’t make it true. It’s not true. At the most basic level, the news you consume is a lie. A lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind. Facts have been withheld on purpose along with proportion and perspective. You are being manipulated,” Carlson continued.

“After more than 30 years in the middle of it, we could tell you stories. The best you can hope for in the news business at this point is the freedom to tell the fullest truth that you can. But there are always limits. And you know that if you bump up against those limits often enough, you will be fired for it.”

“Amazingly, as of tonight, there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson continued. “The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter, where we are now. Twitter has long served as the place where our national conversation incubates and develops. Twitter is not a partisan site — everybody’s allowed here, and we think that’s a good thing.”

“And yet, for the most part the news you see analyzed on Twitter comes from media organizations that are themselves thinly disguised propaganda outlets. You see it on cable news, you talk about it on Twitter. The result may feel like a debate but actually the gatekeepers are still in charge. We think that’s a bad system.”

“Starting soon, we’ll be bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six-and-a-half years to Twitter,” he said.

Carlson concluded by teasing “some other things” and emphasizing the importance of free speech.

Fox News parted ways with Carlson on April 24, and key demographic ratings in his 8 p.m. slot have plummeted since his departure. His show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” was often ranked the highest-rated cable news show and beloved by conservatives.

Tapes of Carlson were previously leaked to left-wing group Media Matters, and a text message was sent to The New York Times (NYT) attempting to discredit Carlson. Fox News sent Media Matters a cease-and-desist letter Friday after conservatives praised Carlson’s conduct and criticized the leaks.
