I think god is a component of it but many of these people still profess faith and will say they do and that just gets back into whose god is better. They can not just fathom anything out side of their reality and I am not sure that they are wrong given the conditioning and the state of the world. This gives them also the reasons to think they are correct. Just as religious people see the world at the same time and see it as correct. They deal in a world of subjective truth and nothing has any meaning. No foundations be it family or religion or beauty or even hope.
