McCormick: What can we do as a collective, as communities, outside of government? The empowerment of the people.
Judge Lung: Gov't is not always the solution. I think of a church in Colorado that hosted an anti trafficking organization with survivors. I was astounded by the lack of education about human trafficking by the community.
Don't just find out about the problem but be a solution. I appreciate you bringing up a faith-based approach.
McCormick: There is a bigger power than the gov't for sure.
Hounakey: The more we prioritize caring for people, loving people, the better. It is those people in Grand Rapids, Michigan in my community who saw my potential. They say they love God, they did what is best for me.
Leading in order to serve people.
McCormick: I am worried about legislation with unintended consequences. Vast numbers of children being harmed on way to our border. 80% of women being raped who are migrating here because of our bad policy.
What we have failed to legislate has lead to 100,000 women being raped each month.
And 85,000 children in our custody are missing
What we are doing is causing harm. In government, what have we caused?
Murray: Prevention is key. The key vulnerabilities and addressing that - period poverty leads into different manners of abuse. I know women who have been willing to sell their bodies just for sanitary products. Equip NGOs to address those vulnerabilities.
McCormick: We mean well but there are real consequences to bad policy. I do not disparage anyone who wants to pursue the american dream. But there are predators and these migrants are being preyed upon because of our horrible border policy.
There will be more death and rape because of our disasterous policy.
Smith: 85,000 missing unaccompanied minors.
