Netanyahu's calculations failed. Their intention was to target the Islamic Jihad and isolate other Palestinian groups and create sedition among the resistance forces.
They wanted to hit the main commanders of Saraya al-Quds and destroy the direct command of the missile unit.
Netanyahu thought that with this plan, the military command of the Islamic Jihad would fall apart and their deterrent power against Gaza would be restored.
