Zelensky hints at postponing elections

No vote will be held in the country while it remains under martial law, the Ukrainian president has said

Ukraine will not hold any elections while martial law remains in force in the country, President Vladimir Zelensky said in an interview to the Washington Post published on Sunday. The country is scheduled to hold elections for parliament in October and for president early next year.

However, no voting will take place while martial law is in place amid the ongoing hostilities with Russia, Zelensky told reporters, implying that the elections will not actually take place on time.

“If we have martial law, we cannot have elections. The constitution prohibits any elections during martial law. If there is no martial law, then there will be [elections],”Zelensky stated.

Well, the law says that according to the constitution of Ukraine, after martial law ends, I think, in 90 days, elections are held.It’s something like that. I don’t remember actually.(WTF?)

Uncertainty over the upcoming elections in the country has been growing as the conflict with Russia has been raging for over a year already. Kiev enacted martial law over the conflict, while Zelensky and his ruling party have increasingly tightened their grip on power under the pretext of fighting Russia and its alleged backers inside the country.

Since the beginning of hostilities in February of last year, Kiev has enacted laws criminalizing political dissent, banned multiple opposition political parties and imposed strict censorship on the media and internet alike. The country’s authorities have even persecuted the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) over its alleged ties with Russia, despite the church having severed its formal ties with Moscow early in the ongoing conflict.

Senior Russian officers killed in action – MOD

Two colonels died on the battlefield while repelling Ukrainian attacks, the Defense Ministry has said

Two senior officers have been killed in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Defense Ministry said on Sunday. The two colonels received mortal wounds while leading the troops against a major assault by Kiev’s forces near the city of Artyomovsk (known in Ukraine as Bakhmut).

One of the officers, the commander of the 4th motorized rifle brigade,Colonel Vyacheslav Makarov, was killed near the village of Krasnoye, the ministry said in its daily briefing. The brigade’s positions were attacked by a major Ukrainian battalion-sized unit. The brigade successfully repelled two waves of attackers, but during the third assault, Makarov was mortally wounded and died during the evacuation effort.

“The servicemen of the brigade destroyed three tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, and two armored vehicles of the Ukrainian military,”the ministry said, adding thataround 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the fighting.

MenawhileColonel Evgeniy Brovko,a deputy army corps commander, was killed in another sector near Artyomovsk, according to the Russian military.

“During the battle to repel one of the attacks, Colonel Evgeny Brovko died heroically, having received multiple shrapnel wounds,” the ministry said.

Artyomovsk remains a major flashpoint in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with the warring parties engaged in an intense struggle for the city for months now. Thebattlefor the city has become known as the‘Bakhmut meat grinder’, with both sides reportedly sustaining heavy losses.

In recent days, Kiev’s forces have reportedly ramped up their attacks in the area, putting pressure on the flanks of Russian units near Artyomovsk. The city has been largely seized by the Russian forces, spearheaded by the Wagner private military group.

Moscow shares details of high-precision strikes on Ukrainian military

The attack successfully hit depots storing Western-supplied weapons and troop deployment areas, the Defense Ministry has claimed

Russia has conductedtwo high-precision strikeson Ukrainian military facilities, the Defense Ministry claimed on Sunday, adding that all designated targets had been hit.

The ministry said in a statement that long-range air and sea-based weapons were fired at areas near the city of Ternopol in Western Ukraine, and the village of Petropavlovka in Dnepropetrovsk Region in the country’s southeast. The strikes targeted both areas of troop deployment and depots containing ammunition, weapons, and military equipment Kiev had received from the West, it added.

Earlier in the day, several Ukrainian officials in Ternopol claimed that the city had come under a missile bombardment. The mayor, Sergey Nadal, said that the strikes hit several warehouses, adding that two people were injured. Later, he claimed that an unspecified number of civilian buildings and cars were damaged in the explosions.

Vladimir Trush, head of the local administration, released pictures of Ukrainian firemen putting out a blaze in what appeared to be an industrial area, claiming the fire was caused by a Russian attack.

In the early hours of Sunday, air raid warnings were issued across Ukraine, with local media reporting blasts in thecities of Kiev and Kharkov, as well as in Sumy Region, and several other locations.

The Russian military significantly ramped up strikes on Ukrainian military and energy infrastructure last October in response to what Moscow described as acts of sabotage carried out by Kiev on Russian soil, including the deadly bombing of the strategic Crimean Bridge. Ukraine denied any responsibility for the attack.

UK-supplied missiles used to strike civilians in Lugansk – authorities

Kiev’s attack on the Donbass city involved two long-range Storm Shadow projectiles, a monitoring group has claimed

Ukraine’s military used UK-supplied long-range missiles to target civilians in the Russian city of Lugansk, resulting in several children being injured, according to Russia’s Ministry of Defense and local authorities.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said that a Ukrainian air strike on the Poly-pack food processing factory and the Milam home goods store in central Lugansk a day earlier had used Storm Shadow missiles.The attack came despite London’s assurances that those weapons would not be used to target civilian facilities, it claimed.

Several houses were damaged and a number of people, including six children, were wounded, the ministry stated, adding that Russian aircraft shot down the Ukrainian Su-24 bomber that had conducted the strike on Lugansk, as well as an MiG-29 fighter accompanying the aircraft.

Initially, the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC), which tracks Kiev’s attacks on the Donbass, identified the projectiles that hit Lugansk, long considered to be out of range of Ukrainian artillery, as Grom missiles.

It later clarified that the strike involved two Anglo-French Storm Shadow missiles and a US-made ADM-160B decoy missile.

On Saturday, the JCCC claimed that Kiev fired another Storm Shadow at the village of Yubileiny, west of Lugansk. It added that the strike injured one elderly woman, damaged windows in seven houses while wrecking garages, 15 cars, and a power line.

The Lugansk People’s Republic, along with three other former Ukrainian territories, was incorporated into Russia last autumn following public referendums that saw overwhelming support from the local populations.

On Thursday, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed earlier media reports that the UK had provided Ukraine with low-observable Storm Shadow missiles, which have a range of more than 250km (150 miles). The Russian Foreign Ministry denounced the move as an “extremely hostile step by London”that “clearly confirms the unprecedented level of British involvement” in the conflict.

Mrs. Maria Bartiromo is good at pretending, very good. However, CTH has never pretended or played the game of pretending and we can spot a pretender a mile away.

The game of pretending is needed in order to retain the illusion of the Potemkin Village of DC. A construct manufactured by the power structure that exists behind the puppet show, with thefull intention to distract us.(You gotta admit, Comer doing these interviews gives us a little hope)

Pretending is what gives rise to a Florida governor on a ‘book tour’ run for 2024. Pretending is what kicks the can of accountability away until it can be buried.

Pretending is needed in order to say Republicans will make a difference, or the black eye doesn’t hurt and look he bought me flowers. Perhaps some reminders and clarifications of the real game inside DC politics are needed. __After all, I am this close < to going back into that mess to destroy some silos__.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, hereafter called the House Oversight Committee or HOC, has a very specific function in DC circles that too few understand. Once again, let us be clear while trying to explain decades of false information founded upon arcane legislative outlooks.

Understanding the DC game of Chaff and Countermeasures…. A “Countermeasure” is a measure or action taken to counter or offset a preceding one.

Politically speaking, the deployment of countermeasures is a well-used tactic by professional politicians in Washington DC to counter incoming public inquiry and protect themselves from anger expressed by the electorate. The republican leadership arevery skilled in the management of “chaff” (outrage), and “countermeasures” (the distraction).

Within Washington DC, the HOC has a very specific and unique function. What Fox News is to corporate conservative punditry, so too is the HOC to the same DC system of pretending. The House Oversight Committeeis the “Chaff and Countermeasures” committee. The HOC operates for both parties with the same mission.

The House Oversight Committee was/is created by the House legislative leadership tomake money for the partyin control of the Chair. When the House Speaker is notified of a DC corruption issue, inside his/her office they will often be heard saying, “give it to oversight.” The intent of that instruction is to give the issue to the HOC, so they can hold hearings, create soundbites and fundraise from the issue.

Making money for the party in control of the Chair is the primary function of the House Oversight Committee. The HOC does not exist to create accountability or oversight; the ==HOC exists to exploit the issue for fundraising•= and satiate the base voters of the party in control of the Chair.

The HOC presents the illusion of accountability by constructing soundbites and member performances which are then broadcast on television for appearances to the voting audience.It is essentially theater.

The HOC is a “general oversight’ committee, not a committee of “specific jurisdiction.” Thus, the HOC is the vehicle where Democrats and Republicans publicly display their political initiatives, frame their narratives and then broadcast them on MSNBC, CNN (Democrats) or FOX NEWS (Republicans).

Depending on the issues at hand, the HOC committee members are generally those performance actors best known to the audience of both parties.This is not accidental; this is by design. Again, for emphasis, I am only talking about the HOC, a “generalized oversight” committee. Only this specific committee has this specific mission…

A hot button topic enters the committee ecosphere. Specifically trained staffers and performance artists, uniquely qualified to put on theatrical productions (both parties), are then deployed to assist the representatives in creating the soundbites that hopefully will go viral and assist them with fundraising and opportunities to say, “here’s what we are doing.” Outlining this construct is not an exhibition in cynicism;this is the reality of what the HOC is designed and created to do.

When you see the HOC performing at their best, you will see lots of soundbites created.

The Chair of the HOC is always part of the House Speaker’s close inner circle. From that association you will discover by training, by habit, and by consequence, the HOC framework is developed to sustain the process itself as an end result.The questioning is the sum total of all accountabilities. The performance is the interview; the conversation is the point; the smoke is the fire.

Oversight, in the HOC framework of narrative creation, has evolved intoreveling in the endless process(a fundraising proposition) and, as a consequence, it completely ignores the end point, misses the bottom line, doesn’t actually SEE the subject matter, and never actually applies accountability toward what might be discovered. This is why you end up with high blood pressure, frustrated with the questions not asked, and throwing bricks at the screen or monitors when viewing.

The point of HOC hearings is to create what are nowdescribed as “viral moments” that can be used to generate money. The second, and lesser objective, is to give the illusion of accountability while not actually ever holding anyone or anything accountable. See prior HOC reference points like Fast and Furious, IRS targeting, Benghazi, the Twitter File review or the current Joe/Hunter Biden crime syndicate investigation.

If you watch the HOC through the prism of expecting some form of accountability for the violations of law, you will be frustrated and disappointed. However, if you watch the HOC through the prism of how well the members will do at raising money from their performances, then you can evaluate the effectiveness; the proverbial winning and losing.

The HOC is designed by House leadership to perform the same basic function for both Democrats and Republicans. The HOC committee assignments are selectedbased on the theatrical skills of each representative. This is not to say the motives of the members are sullied or impure, it is simply to point out the motive of the committee itself is to generate fundraising from the skillsets of the members on the committee.

Once you fully grasp what the intent of the House Oversight Committee is about, and onceyou drop the expectation that any accountability in oversight is the intent, then you can watch the performances through the entertainment prism of partisan politics and genuinely enjoy them – or hate them.

The HOC is called the “Chaff and Countermeasures” Committee, because that’s essentially what the committee does. It gives the appearance of targeting, steering the target to a controlled destination, and then distracting the audience from the outcome of accountability.

If sunlight is achieved, meaning the Mainstream Media cannot ignore the issue as presented and questioned, and if the general public become more familiar with the controversial subject matter or topic at hand, and if the party of the Chair can fundraise from the issue, then the committee has succeeded. However, if you are looking for something to change as an outcome of any HOC investigation or hearing,you will be perpetually disappointed.

There seems to be a willful blindness on the part of the American people, a chosen refusal to acknowledge the implications of the unAmerican and unConstititional behaviors, actions and outcomes we are being served on a daily basis.
