REPORT: San Diego Border Patrol Agents Arrested Afghan National on the FBI’s Terror Watchlist After Crossing the Border Illegally

On Wednesday, Border Patrol agents in San Diego arrested an Afghan national on the FBI’s terror watchlist who illegally crossed with a group of migrants near Otay Mesa, CA, according to FOX News correspondent Bill Melugin.

“BREAKING: Per multiple CBP sources, Border Patrol agents in San Diego sector arrested an Afghan national on the FBI’s terror watchlist after he crossed illegally w/ group of migrants near Otay Mesa, CA on Wednesday. I’m told FBI confirmed the match, & is leading investigation,” Melugin tweeted Sunday.

Republican Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-48) confirmed the arrest with their CBP contact.

“Biden’s open borders aren’t just a gateway to five million illegals, record human and child trafficking and the deadliest drug crisis in our history,” Issa said in a statement.

“Biden’s reckless policy is also an open invitation to even the most wanted terrorists in the world to come to America. They know they’ll never have to leave. The nation knows what’s going on and this president has only begun to be held accountable for what he has done,” he added.

Earlier Sunday, The Gateway Pundit reported that during a routine check at the Douglas, Arizona, port of entry, CBP officers discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) bound for the United States.

Border Patrol turned over the device to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Homeland Security is leading the investigation.

DEVELOPING: At Least Seven People Shot in Arizona City On U.S.-Mexico Border- Suspect on the Loose – UPDATE: Two People Are Dead

Fox News reported that least seven people were reportedly shot and injured in Yuma, Arizona Saturday night Yuma is located just 10 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border.

Two people were killed as a result of the violence.

The Yuma Police Department Police said that a 19-year-old male was transported prior to police arrival and was pronounced dead at Yuma Regional Medical Center a short time late.

A second victim, a 20-year-old male, was transported by Yuma Fire Department to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

A third victim, a 16-year-old male, was moved to Yuma Regional Medical Center and later flown to Phoenix with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the other gunshot victims, males ages 15, 19, 18, and 16, had non-life threatening injuries. A total of seven were treated at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

As Gateway Pundit readers know, Yuma along with other border cities are drowning under a massive invasion of illegal migrant hordes while the Biden regime does nothing.

ABC News revealed that police responded to a disturbing call right before 11 p.m. local time about an “aggravated assault” on South J Edward Drive.

Yuma police Lt. Craig Johnson told ABC News that seven individuals were transported to the hospital.

Police currently do not have a suspect in custody at this time.

Fox News said they reached out to the Yuma Police Department by phone and email early Sunday seeking additional details regarding the shooting but have yet to hear back.

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson initially ruled in February that Trump and FBI Director Christopher Wray could sit for depositions in the case, with strict restrictions on their length and subject matter.

But the Justice Department (DOJ) said on Thursday in a filing that it planned to ask a federal appeals court to block Trump’s deposition unless Jackson reconsidered its request that Wray be deposed first. The department argued the FBI director must sit for his deposition first as the lower-ranking official, saying his testimony could make the need for Trump’s moot.

Jackson said in her ruling that the Court was “somewhat surprised” to learn that since her February order, “the parties have done nothing more than wrangle over the order of the two depositions.”

The judge sided with the DOJ in ordering that Wray be deposed first, while also defending her initial ruling.

“The Court’s ruling was appropriate in light of all of the facts, including the former President’s own public statements concerning his role in the firing of the plaintiff. However, in order to get the parties — who apparently still cannot agree on anything — over this impasse, it is hereby ORDERED that the deposition of Christopher Wray proceed first, rendering the instant motion moot,” Jackson said.

Defiant Mayorkas: We’re doing ‘extraordinary’ job at border

President Biden’s defiant Homeland Security czar said Sunday his agency is doing an “extraordinary’’ job on the migrant crisis — although warning it’s “too early’’ to tell if the surge in asylum-seekers has peaked.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — under fire from all sides over the flood of migrants at the US-Mexico border — hailed what he said was a drastic reduction in migrant encounters in the two days since the more restrictive pandemic emergency measure Title 42 expired Thursday.

Border Patrol agents encountered about 6,300 migrants at the border Friday and another 4,200 Saturday, Mayorkas told CNN’s “State of the Union” — while earlier in the week, that daily figure was north of 10,000.

Still, the Democratic Biden administration’s Homeland chief said it is “too early” to know if the lower daily numbers will hold.

But regardless, Mayorkas pushed back against border-state Democrats such as Arizona’s Rep. Ruben Gallego, who has said “federal agencies have had time to plan, [for the expiration of Title 42], but their efforts have fallen short.”

Mayorkas said he would “respectfully disagree” with Gallego, pointing to a boost in border resources that his agency has deployed, including new asylum officers, border and processing agents, stations and detention facilities and regional-processing centers.

“It’s extraordinary what we’ve done over the past 18 months or so,” Mayorkas told host Dana Bash.

The DHS chief noted that in the two days since Title 42 expired, officials had seen a “50% drop” from the record number of border encounters in the earlier part of last week.

“We have communicated very clearly a vitally important message to the individuals that are thinking of arriving at our southern border: There is a lawful, safe and orderly way to arrive in the United States that is through the pathways that President Biden has expanded in an unprecedented way. And then, there’s a consequence if one does not use those lawful pathways,” Mayorkas said.

“And that consequence is removal from the United States, a deportation and encountering a five-year ban on reentry and possible criminal prosecution.”

Under Title 42, migrants could be more easily and quickly booted from the US.

Without it, there have been fears of a new tidal wave of migrants. The White House ended up tweaking the rules to try to curb the expected chaos, including making asylum-seekers who say they fear for their lives in their home country to attempt to first get help from the country they traveled through to get to the US.

Musk Defends Twitter Move to Limit Access to Content Ahead of Turkey’s Election

Current Twitter CEO Elon Musk defended the platform’s decision to restrict access to some content in Turkey a day ahead of the country’s election.

“In response to legal process and to ensure Twitter remains available to the people of Turkey, we have taken action to restrict access to some content in Turkey today,” the Twitter Global Government Affairs said a day prior to Turkey’s election, scheduled to take place on May 14.

“We have informed the account holders of this action in line with our policy. This content will remain available in the rest of the world,” the account said.

Matthew Yglesias, a columnist for Bloomberg, commented saying, “The Turkish government asked Twitter to censor its opponents right before an election and @elonmusk complied—should generate some interesting Twitter Files reporting.”

In response, Musk wrote: “Did your brain fall out of your head, Yglesias? The choice is have Twitter throttled in its entirety or limit access to some tweets. Which one do you want?”

One Twitter user responded to the conversation, saying: “You do realize you are limiting the speech of voices in Turkey based on government definitions, right? You know, the entire premise of what you were concerned about when the U.S. govt was doing the same thing in the Twitter Files …”

Robby Starbuck, a Cuban-American who ran in the Republican primary for U.S. House for a seat to represent Tennessee in 2022, weighed in. “[Yglesias] wants you to do nothing and in return Turkish people have ZERO access to twitter when government censors it in response. Real galaxy brain stuff.

Turkey Election

Voters in Turkey on Sunday will be electing both a president and parliament for a five-year term. They will decide whether to reelect or oust Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He’s been in the position since 2014, and prior to that, served as prime minister from 2003.

To win the presidency, a candidate must get more than 50 percent of ballots cast. Otherwise, there will be a runoff election on May 28 to be held between the two leading candidates, who are Erdogan and opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

Turkish citizens will also be voting for 600 members of parliament.

Erdogan most recently shook hands with Musk at the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Prior to that, the two had a video conference call in December 2021 to talk about electric vehicles and satellites, because SpaceX signed a deal with Turkey that year to launch the country’s first communications satellite.

In February, when a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and killed over 50,000 people, the government reduced access to Twitter, as well as TikTok, for a short time.

Chinese Spies Extremely Active in EU Capital, Report Says

Spies working either directly or indirectly for the Chinese government are extremely active in the capital of the EU, a government report has said.

A document published by Belgium’s Security Service has found that Chinese spies are extremely active in the country, prompting concerns from politicians in the country which houses Europe’s de facto administrative capital of Brussels.

The report has now prompted concerns amongst some European politicians, with numerous accusations of espionage and illicit influence campaigns within the European Parliament being levelled at the likes of Morocco, Russia, China and Qatar.

According to a report by Belgium’s VSSE security service, the activities of Chinese nationals are of particular concern, with the Communist government’s tight relationship with business interests in its country making it particularly difficult to spot possible intelligence assets.

“China’s activities in our country are not limited to the proverbial spy who steals state secrets or the hacker who paralyzes an essential company or government service from behind his PC,” the government report reads, arguing instead many Chinese intelligence gatherers operate in a “grey zone between lobbying, interference, political influence, espionage, economic blackmail and disinformation campaigns.”

“It involves a whole tangle of interactions with numerous state and non-state players with ties to China,” the service continued. “It is a game in which China is extremely adept because it is a tightly managed country with a strong interdependence between the government and the business world.”

The report goes on to say that many CCP intelligence assets aren’t employed by the government at all, but are merely “Chinese private individuals” who support the government out of sympathy for the Communist regime, or through subtle coercion from state authorities.

Regardless of the methods, the report has concerned a number of politicians active in Brussels, with one nationalist party operating in Belgium’s Flanders region, Vlaams Belang, telling Breitbart that they are concerned about Chinese spying.

“When one thinks of spies, one often thinks of films such as James Bond, but this is not true,” party representative Kristof Slagmulder said in a statement seen by Breitbart. “Often these are diplomats, lobbyists, journalists, employees, companies or even students who are actively gathering information to pass on to an intelligence officer.”

Calling Brussels a “chessboard for spies”, the Flemish parliament MP went on to call for it to be investigated whether Chinese students in Belgium could be playing a role in CCP espionage efforts, saying that such a class of Chinese migrants can often be overlooked by authorities.

“It may look innocent and nuanced, but in times of conflict all weapons can be used to bring a country to its knees,” he said. “We must therefore keep our knowledge safe and actively work towards a safer Flemish higher education by optimizing and possibly tightening up the procedures for Chinese students.”

Former NBA Star Dwight Howard Apologizes To China After Calling Taiwan A Country

Former NBA star Dwight Howard has apologized to China after he referred to Taiwan as a country during a video with Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Howard, who played over 15 seasons in the NBA and won a championship in 2020, upset Chinese basketball fans with the Taiwan reference in a promotional video filmed with Taiwan’s vice president, Lai Ching-te.

“I’m Dwight Howard and since I came to Taiwan I’ve gained a whole new appreciation of this country,” Howard said in the video. “This place makes me feel so much love and I experience so much hospitality with a friendly and great living environment with such a great diverse culture.”

The video was announcing the opportunity for people to win a night stay at Taiwan’s presidential office.

Howard, who previously played for teams like the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers, now plays for the Taoyuan Leopards, a team in Taiwan’s T1 basketball league. His comments in the video went viral on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, where he was bashed by angry Chinese citizens upset that he would suggest Taiwan is independent.

The former NBA star quickly walked back his comments and apologized to China, saying that he was not using the word “country” in the way many interpreted.

“Where I’m from, if I say I wanna go to the country, it doesn’t mean that place is a country. It’s just how we talk,” he said. “If I offended anyone in China I apologize. It was not my intention to harm anyone with what I said in the commercial,” Howard said.

He said that he did not mean to disrespect anyone from Taiwan or China.

“I am not a politician. I don’t want to get involved in any politics,” the eight-time All-Star said. “I have the utmost respect for Chinese people and utmost respect for Taiwanese people, so it was never my intent to disrespect nobody.”

Taiwan presidential spokesperson Kolas Yotaka told CNN that Chinese visitors would be welcome to come to stay in Taiwan to learn more about it.

“We do not intend to break their hearts. We welcome them to stay in Taiwan for a few nights. If you know more about Taiwan, you will know why politicians, athletes, tourists, and entrepreneurs from all over the world like to come to our country,” she said.

Howard’s apology is similar to when actor and wrestler John Cena apologized to China after calling Taiwan a country in 2021 during a “Fast and Furious” promotional video.

“I made one mistake. I have to say something very, very, very important now. I love and respect China and Chinese people. I’m very, very sorry about my mistake. I apologize, I apologize, I’m very sorry,” he said.

Palestinians say malfunction caused misfire less than a day after ceasefire between Israel and Islamic Jihad put into effect

A rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip at the southern coastal city of Ashkelon on Sunday evening, the military said, breaking around 20 hours of calm after a ceasefire was reached between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, ending five days of fighting.

Incoming rocket sirens sounded in Ashkelon’s southern industrial zone, and the nearby towns of Zikim and Netiv Ha’asara.

The Israel Defense Forces said the rocket landed in an open field, without causing any injuries or damage. The Iron Dome air defense system was not used, as the projectile was not heading for a populated area, the IDF added.

Over 33% of Israelis think Netanyahu started Gaza operation due to polls

Likud rose in new polls although all the polls found that Netanyahu would be unable to form a government.

More than a third of Israelis believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched Operation Shield and Arrow due to the Likud Party's recent fall in polls, while slightly less believed that it was in order to restore quiet to the south and 13% believed it was due to pressure from National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, according to a poll published by Channel 13 on Sunday evening.

The Channel 13 poll additionally found that 57% of Israelis believe that Operation Shield and Arrow was a success, while 24% do not believe so. 54% of the respondents said they believed Netanyahu performed well during the operation, while 29% said they believe he didn't perform well.

Channel 13 additionally asked respondents if the current government or the last government performed better in terms of security issues with the Gaza Strip, with 37% saying the government headed by Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid performed better and 34% saying the current government performed better.

Most Israelis believe gov't, IDF performed well in operation

A poll by Channel 12 (N12) found that 74% of Israelis believe Defense Minister Yoav Gallant performed well in the operation, while 17% believe he did not. Meanwhile, 63% said they believe Netanyahu performed well, while 29% said they believe he did not.

When asked by N12 if the operation improved Israel's deterrence, 42% said they believe it did, while 44% believe Israeli deterrence remained unchanged.

A poll by KAN on Sunday found that 57% of Israelis believe Israel won the last round of fighting, 5% said they believe the Islamic Jihad won, 19% said both won and 19% said they didn't know.

71% of respondents told KAN that they believe the situation will remain calm for a few months, while 7% said they believe it will last a few years and 22% said they didn't know.

67% of respondents told KAN that they believe the government operated well during Operation Shield and Arrow, while 25% said they believe the government performed badly and 8% said they didn't know.

Meanwhile, a poll by Channel 14 found that 60% of Israelis believe Israel won the last round of fighting, while 7% believe the Palestinians won and 32% believe no one won.

63% of the respondents to the Channel 14 poll rated Netanyahu's performance as good, while 90% rated Gallant's performance as good in the operation. 92% rated IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi's performance as good as well.

Coalition remains unable to form a government in next election

Polls conducted by Channels 11 (KAN), 12, 13 and 14 continued to show the current coalition failing to form a government if elections were held today on Sunday.

According to a poll by KAN, the Likud Party would earn 28 seats, while the National Unity Party headed by Benny Gantz would fall to 26 seats and Yesh Atid would earn 18 seats.

Meanwhile, Shas and the Religious Zionist party (if it runs with Otzma Yehudit) would each earn ten seats, United Torah Judaism would earn seven seats, Yisrael Beytenu would earn six seats and Ra'am, Hadash-Ta'al and Meretz would earn five seats each.

The poll would leave the current coalition with 55 seats and the current opposition (excluding Hadash-Ta'al) with 60 seats.

According to a poll by N12, the National Unity Party headed by Benny Gantz and the Likud Party would each earn 27 seats and Yesh Atid would earn 18 seats.

Outrage over WHO advice on sexuality for infants

The World Health Organisation (WHO) is under pressure to withdraw guidance for schools recommending that toddlers “ask questions about sexuality” and “explore gender identities”.

The guidance says that “sexuality education starts from birth” and is described as a “framework for policy makers, educational and health authorities and specialists”.

Its advice on how to “talk about sexual matters” with young children was aimed at policymakers across Europe, and was translated into several European languages and promoted at national and international events, according to the WHO.

The document was also consulted by Welsh ministers who last year rolled out a mandatory sexual education syllabus to schools in Wales, and has led to a backlash from the Government, MPs and activists.

The advice proposes that four-to-six year olds should be taught to “talk about sexual matters” and “consolidate their gender identity”.

It recommends that children under the age of four should be told they have “the right to ask questions about sexuality” and “the right to explore gender identities”.

The WHO guidance also says that children aged four and under should be taught about “enjoyment and pleasure when touching one’s own body, early childhood masturbation”.

These topics are described as the “minimal standards that need to be covered by sexuality education”.

A government spokesperson said: “The UK Government does not recognise this WHO guidance and we don’t agree with its recommendations. We have not distributed or promoted it to schools.

“We offer our own guidance to help schools to teach children and young people about relationships and health.”

However, the WHO guidance, first published in 2010, was cited in a 2017 report commissioned by Welsh ministers entitled “Informing the Future of the Sex and Relationships Curriculum in Wales”.

Update and Analysis

The current Netanyahu government is committed to the “Greater Israel” and the “Promised Land”, namely the biblical homeland of the Jews.

(See our analysis below). Benjamin Netanyahu is pressing ahead to formalize “Israel’s colonial project”, namely the appropriation of all Palestinian Lands.

His position defined below consists in total appropriation as well as the outright exclusion of the Palestinian people from their homeland:

“These are the basic lines of the national government headed by me: The Jewish people have an exclusive and unquestionable right to all areas of the Land of Israel. The government will promote and develop settlement in all parts of the Land of Israel — in the Galilee, the Negev, the Golan, Judea and Samaria.”

The Nakba

Commemoration on May 13, 2023: The Nakba. 75 years ago on May 13, 1948. The Palestinian Catastrophe prevails. In a 2018 report, the United Nations stated that Gaza had become “unliveable”:

The above UN assessment dates back to 2018. Under Netanyahu, Israel is currently proceeding with the plan to annex large chunks of Palestinian territory “while keeping the Palestinian inhabitants in conditions of severe deprivation and isolation.“

Creating conditions of extreme poverty and economic collapse constitute the means for triggering the expulsion and exodus of Palestinians from their homeland. It is part of the process of annexation.

“If the manoeuvre is successful, Israel will end up with all of the territories it conquered during the 1967 war, including all of the Golan Heights and Jerusalem and most of the Palestinian Territories, including the best sources of water and agricultural land.

The West Bank will find itself in the same situation as the Gaza strip, cut off from the outside world and surrounded by hostile Israeli military forces and Israeli settlements.” (South Front)
