American-Made, American-Sourced, American Flags

We pledge to make the highest quality American flags. Each flag is made from the finest locally-sourced materials and hand-sewn by American seamstresses with a passion for patriotism.

It’s not about us. It’s about the flag. But since you’re here, we’ll give you the 411 on who we really are.

We’re just three patriotic friends who couldn’t find a hand-sewn American flag made in the U.S.A. that wouldn’t end up in tatters after flying for just a short time.

That was unacceptable.

So we decided to make it ourselves.

The Founders

It’s not about us. It’s about the flag. But since you’re here, we’ll give you the 411 on who we really are.

We’re just three patriotic friends who couldn’t find a hand-sewn American flag made in the U.S.A. that wouldn’t end up in tatters after flying for just a short time.

That was unacceptable.

So we decided to make it ourselves.

“If you’re looking for a cheap American Flag, you’ve come to the wrong place.” - Max Berry

When Max Berry, Wes Lyon and Katie Lyon purchased their first homes, they searched for a high-quality American flag to fly. But they all soon encountered the exact same problem; finding a high-quality American flag that was made in the USA. Purchases from Amazon and big box stores resulted in flags that quickly deteriorated, wrapped around their flagpole, and were often made overseas. If the flags they bought were made domestically, they were often mass-produced with low quality materials. After an exhaustive search for a flag worthy of our country’s colors, everything came up short. Frustrated, they decided to take matters into their own hands, launching Allegiance Flag Supply in Charleston, SC in 2018.

Their mission was to scour the country to find the highest quality materials, sewing processes and accessories made in America. The founders spent two years researching and developing the perfect way to sew the American flag. Allegiance now employs dozens of seamstresses, many of whom saw their jobs disappear as American textile manufacturing moved overseas. Max, Wes, and Katie are proud to contribute to a resurgence in American textile manufacturing.

They're a fun-loving bunch who love their country. And their friends and colleagues will tell you that’s exactly who they are. But making the American flag is serious business and a task they don’t take lightly. Every stitch. Every hem. Every thread. They’re all the most important part because they make up the whole.

The Proof Is In The Process

When our parents and grandparents made something, they made it here in America and they built it to last! So before we looked forward to creating the highest quality American flags, we had to first look back to see how they did it in the old days. Here’s where we landed.

A Cut Above The Rest

  1. Every flag needs a proper base. The baseline of our flags is an American-sourced, first-run, 200 denier nylon. Durable enough to withstand harsh elements, but lightweight enough to catch a breeze.

  1. Each flag is fortified with double needle lock-stitching…so if one stitch breaks, it won’t continue to unravel.

  1. Stress points are reinforced with bar tacking for added stabilization

  1. Strong, mold-resistant grommet strip to stabilize the left hand side of the flag and increase longevity.

These four levels of reinforcement are a key differentiator and testament of our commitment to quality. They are the functional factors that set us apart from the rest.

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE

We don’t hire customer service reps to take calls on another continent. Want to talk to one of the three founders? Just pick up the phone. Your best interests are our best interests

That Thing Isn't Going Anywhere

When we started, we broke the flag-making process down to the studs and built it back up to be what it is today: the best American flag from sea to shining sea. We then scoured our great country to bring you Vermont white ash poles, anodized aluminum spinners, cast aluminum brackets and more. The only thing we didn’t bring was the wind.

We did the work so you don’t have to. Our accessory team includes Vermont white ash flagpoles, which are finished with a double-coated polyurethane to protect them in the outdoor elements.

Our flagpole spinners are crafted with heavy-duty anodized aluminum; made to last a lifetime. They will rotate and spin around your pole as your flag is blown in the breeze. This prevents your flag from wrapping and tangling around your pole, which is a huge issue with many household flags.

We round out this stellar cast with a sturdy cast aluminum bracket. If we’ve said it before, it’s worth mentioning again- that thing isn’t going anywhere.

AMERICAN FLAGS ACTUALLY MADE IN AMERICA

We're pretty big supporters of American makers and artisans, if you don't know by now. That's why when we discovered Allegiance Flag Supply in Charleston, South Carolina, we had to partner with them and have their flags in our stores.

Founders Katie and Wes Lyon and Max Berry were once first-time homebuyers who were in the process of creating their dream homes. There was only one thing missing— an American flag for the front porch.

In the south, the finishing touch for any house is an American flag cascading off of the front porch. The American flag is not just a decorative object, it represents pride in our home country, gratefulness for military personnel sacrifices, and it's a bright welcome to fellow neighbors. Yet Max and the Lyons could only find American flags made in other countries.

They said, "We searched high and low for a better flag, but big box stores and Amazon purchases only turned up flags that were made in China or if they were made domestically, felt mass-produced or spit out of big machine thousands at a time with cheap materials.

These three took measures into their own hands and established Allegiance Flag Supply, specializing in making high-quality American flags.

They began to search the country to find the highest quality materials, sewing processes, and accessories made in America.

Their story continues, "Not long after the company's inception, they began working with a third-generation, family-owned factory where many of the seamstresses had seen their jobs disappear as American textile manufacturing moved overseas. After tirelessly testing fabrics and exploring sewing techniques to create the perfect flag, Allegiance was born, contributing to a resurgence in American textile manufacturing along the way."

Today, they're proud to be a company that accounts for every hem, every thread, every new job, and every flag that leaves their factory. They love what they do, and they love their country. Now they want to share it with others that feel the same way, too.
