Whatever they're told they can't have.
When it becomes obvious that we're not allowed to have the truth, many will yearn for it. This isn't because they've suddenly awakened or become better people, but simply because someone told them "no". When the asleep see the truth for themselves, because they sought it out, they will recoil in horror and BEG for the military to take control and oust these career criminals from government forever.
