Hawthorn Center, a state-run children's psychiatric hospital in Detroit, held an active shooter drill on December 21

Police were not given advance warning and neither were the patients or their parents: a 32-year-old laborer at the hospital was told to play the gunman

The worker, Brandon Woodruff, was arrested by police called to the scene, handcuffed and detained for 30 minutes: he is now suing for damages
