GOES magnetometers registering a very strong magnetic shock right as the quake hit.
Pay attn to the blue line, GOES 18, that sat is over the pacific coast. The earthquake hit at 05/20 at 0150 right as the flux bottomed out.

Interesting coincidence. This is SDO (solar dynamics observatory) imagery in 131 angstroms showing a lunar transit. For looks only, just cool.
Checking earth based mags and they're all showing a fairly strong magnetic storm…still only rated as G1, but clearly enough to boost a quake as we've seen.
