Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. OSF may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time.
The position requires being readily available to work at night or weekend for special projects or when server infrastructure emergency arises.
Manage Microsoft Windows and Azure Identity Management platform', Exchange Online mailbox access permission, group assignment, Group Policy and Intune Policy Objects, and develop Windows automation scripts as needed.
Implement, manage and administrate VMware virtualized server environment.
Implement, manage and administrate server infrastructure backup & redundancy with hardware and VMware virtualization options.
Implement, manage and administrate Azure Virtual Desktop environment
Extensive knowledge configuring and managing HPE Server and NetApp storage hardware
Monitor server performance and implement proactive tuning to improve server security, availability and performance.
Perform backend server troubleshooting, server/workstation security forensic analysis.
Provide on premise server configuration and technical guidance for all OSF offices.
Document all server infrastructure, inventory, configuration and disaster recovery procedure, and develop server standard and guidelines.
Provide knowledge training to junior staff to build a supportive and inclusive IT operating environment.
Act as escalation point for the user support team for more complex support tasks, which require higher level of expertise and elevated access.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or related field a plus
Experience in computing or related area with a focus on Microsoft Windows Operating System, Microsoft backend application server, VMware Virtualization platform (some Linux OS experience a plus)
Microsoft Windows Server and VMware certification, and other applications certifications
Experience with managing vendors & working with them on complex projects
Skills Required:
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills of on-premise Microsoft server infrastructure and online Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
Experience with Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop implementation, support and administration
VMware vSphere Virtualization Platform, VMware workstation and vCenter administration tools
HPE Server and NetApp SAN storage administration and management
Technical writing skills to document all systems infrastructure, standards and guidelines
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server Group Policy Object and desktop and laptop Windows security implementation.
Extensive knowledge of configuring on-premise Microsoft Windows Servers, SCCM, SQL, WSUS, Active Directory, Network Printing, Certificate server, and other Windows Server management utilities.
Extensive knowledge configuring and managing Azure virtual environment and Microsoft 365 services
Project management skills
Vendor management skills
