Any gardeners would be wise to get plants before you need them. We're finding shortages of things, not from people buying them out, but from weird supply "issues" ahem. For example, no cukes at the 4 different stores we happened to be in.
Your best bet is to find a local grower or someone who starts seeds, rather than rely on a place like the big box or big garden places. Call first.
Heinz owns so many brands. At this point it's almost safer to boycott all brands. Sounds extreme but when 3 or 4 companies seem to own all brands, what can we do? Shop local and cook from scratch and grow own food.
Not to mention the smoke from the fires has been blocking our sun.
But we continue regardless :)
oh, tomatoes benefit from crushed eggshells. My grandmother also used to save fish bones/meat and dehydrate, then grind up. You can throw a carcass in before you plant but not if you have bear around.
