Why does it have to be someone in uniform?
Anon hasn't seen anyone from the military really outperform civilians in anything other than taking nonsensical, possibly illegal, orders and violently actioning them without question.
Perhaps MOAR civilian oversight is what is needed. Another clandestine military candidate is going to be worthless. If they've been in the military long enough to reach high ranks, CO or NCO, the politics necessary means they are inherently comp'd.
Good soldiers / cops / lawyers / DA's are NOT promoted. Only scumbags past a certain point.
You'll want someone who was in for a single stint, saw through the BS, and is actually out to HELP the American public instead of their globalist handlers.
So, someone who ONLY served under the previous admin might be worthwhile if they're carrying those values forward.
But, AGAIN, why aren't we looking for civilian oversight instead of more military "sweet ass post retirement positions"?
AND here's the critical quote:
"Donatus recognizes that the rank he now wears is not a personal achievement but a reflection of his mentors and the community that raised him."
If they've made high rank, guaranteed they're not a (you). Too many evil gates to pass through.
