Saw an AWACs head that way and switch off as they got there, and right now Mercury seems to be working I-35 between Dallas and Wichita.

All I got is evidence that the military is handing them their asses this week in particular.

With the Senate being recessed this week, and, IMO -this being "go week" -you'd want the Senators you needed in the loop to have comms that could withstand a comms blackout. The drops tell us federal elections since 2018 haven't mattered anyway (which suggests we're under Continuation of Government" -so a bunch of those other people may not even be Senators at all …and I can just imagine how many people over in the House don't really have a job and may not even know it.

So anyway -yeah. You would want your legit Senators to have a hotline this late in the game.
