We flew Al Qaeda into Bosnia to perpetrate attacks against Serbian districts in Bosnia. When the Serbs began to retaliate, the media was there to cover those hostilities. When Milosovic's forces (largely Serbian) took out AQ strongholds, the media was there to cover it as a massacre of civilians.
After years of this, it became hard to tell what attrocities were real, which ones were staged, etc - and quite a few probably stopped caring.
