More countries are pursuing independent development, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the plenary session of the Second Eurasian Economic Forum on Wednesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the Eurasian Economic Forum on May 24 together with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, and Vice Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.
He used the space to outline his viewpoint of global changes.
"We see really deep, fundamental changes taking place on the global stage. More and more states are taking a course towards strengthening national sovereignty, pursuing an independent domestic and foreign policy, and adhering to their own development model," Putin told the participants of the forum.
In March, the Kremlin released an updated foreign policy doctrine. The document revises Russia's international role and sets a priority of facilitating the establishment of a multipolar and equitable system of international relations aimed at ensuring security and equal opportunities for all states.
The new doctrine sets a goal of eliminating the vestiges of domination by the US and other unfriendly states in global affairs and creating conditions to enable any state to renounce neo-colonial or hegemonic ambitions. The document singled out the US as the main instigator of anti-Russian policies in the world and drew attention to Washington's attempts to weaken Moscow.

The Russian president underscored that dramatic changes have also been taking place in the international financial sphere with Russia proving capable of not only adapting to them, but also becoming a leader in this process.
In particular, Putin stressed that Russia is working on reducing the share of currencies of unfriendly countries in mutual settlements and intends to work even more actively with partners around the world to reach a full transition to the use of national currencies.

The GEC funds Poynter Institutes’ International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and members of its international fact-checking network.
The IFCN also received its initial funding from the Omidyar Network, Google, Facebook, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and George Soros’s Open Society.
The IFCN was nominated for a Pulitzer for their work in censoring and blacklisting opposing voices not sanctioned by government officials (Ex. Gateway Pundit, RFK Jr.’s Children’s Defense Fund).

Covid may no longer be considered a public health emergency, with the darkest days of the crisis consigned to history.
But concerned scientists fear the next pandemic is lurking just around the corner.
World Health Organization (WHO) chiefs are keeping close tabs on nine pathogens that pose the most 'urgent' threat to humanity. Urgent research is being done on all of them to find tests, treatments and vaccines.
But officials have excluded one key threat — bird flu.
This is despite the biggest ever outbreak of avian influenza currently sweeping the world, sparking fears it could soon jump to humans.
While it is not known to transmit easily between humans currently, mutations to the virus that makes mammal-to-mammal transmission easier could change that, some experts fear.
British scientists have also modelled worst-case scenarios under which the virus kills up to one in 20 people it infects, if it ever manages to take off in humans.
Officials said the figure was for 'planning purposes' and not a prediction.
The list of 'priority diseases' on the WHO's website states: 'This is not an exhaustive list, nor does it indicate the most likely causes of the next epidemic.
'WHO reviews and updates this list as needs arise, and methodologies change.'
Professor Francois Balloux, an infectious disease expert based at University College London, told MailOnline: 'I don't know why they chose to exclude flu and bird flu from the list.

'However we look at it, the chance that the next pandemic will be caused by a lineage of influenza is high.'
He added: 'One possibility may be that they wanted to draw attention to some less well-known zoonotic threats, for which preparedness should be stepped up, whereas for flu contingency plans are in place.
'The problem with that explanation is that it doesn't fit with SARS-CoV-2 being on the list.'
Dr Simon Clarke, an infectious disease expert at Reading University, told MailOnline: 'WHO don't explain why their list of potential pandemic pathogens contains what it does.
'But the list only contains things we know already exist. We don't yet have a derivative of avian flu which can pass from person to person.
'Unless and until we do, it's probably unwise to list it as an impending threat.
'It's entirely possible that we'll get such a mutant virus at some point, but not guaranteed and if we do neither is there any guarantee that it will be especially lethal.'

The US is already in a recession thanks to Joe Biden.
According to reports, McCarthy told House Republicans on Tuesday of the debt ceiling talks: “We are no where near a deal yet.”
Joe Biden waited 97 days to engage in debt ceiling talks with House Speaker McCarthy and other congressional leaders.
The White House is facing a June 1 deadline.
House Republicans passed a debt ceiling resolution in April but the White House is blaming the looming default on the GOP.

This is one of the reasons why his donors and voters are abandoning ship ahead of his announcement. Trump leads by as much as 45-points in recent GOP Primary polls, and many, including big-dollar donors, are questioning whether DeSantis is ready for primetime.

IRS Commissioner: DOJ Responsible for Whistleblower Purge from Hunter Biden Tax Probe
IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel told Congress the Justice Department (DOJ) made the decision to purge an IRS whistleblower from the DOJ’s probe into Hunter Biden, according to a letter sent to House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-MO).
Werfel’s letter on May 17 responded to Smith’s May 16 inquiry about concerns that a high-ranking IRS agent faced retaliation for raising red flags about alleged political interference in the tax probe of Hunter Biden.
Werfel said the decision to remove a whistleblower from the tax investigation was at the DOJ’s direction, confirming what a second IRS whistleblower alleged Monday.
“The IRS whistleblower you reference alleges that the change in their work assignment came at the direction of the Department of Justice,” reads the letter, obtained by Fox News. “As a general matter and not in reference to any specific case, I believe it is important to emphasize that in any matter involving federal judicial proceedings, the IRS follows the direction of the Justice Department.”
Werfel disavowed any potential role he allegedly had in removing the IRS whistleblowers from the case.
“I want to state unequivocally that I have not intervened – and will not intervene – in any way that would impact the status of any whistleblower,” Werfel said.
But Werfel also claimed he could not provide any additional details about the purge due to “pending proceedings” and absolved himself of further looking into the incident.
“In light of laws and policies designed to protect the integrity of pending proceedings, I am unable to provide details on this matter,” he wrote.
Werfel added:
When an IRS employee raises allegations of this kind, the Commissioner’s office does not run an investigation, seek the identity of the whistleblower, or similarly intervene; instead, the Inspector General serves as a critical guardian of the whistleblower process and conducts relevant inquiries into the matter.
On Monday, a second IRS whistleblower in the DOJ’s probe into Hunter Biden for tax fraud surfaced after the expulsion of the whole IRS team investigating the president’s son, documents sent to Congress revealed.

Government to respond to convicted NXIVM founder Keith Raniere's request for evidence, new trial
Raniere was found guilty in 2019 of racketeering, sex trafficking, forced labor, wire fraud conspiracy and other charges.
The federal government asked a judge to allow it to respond to convicted NXIVM cult founder Keith Raniere's motion for a new trial and to compel the production of evidence in the case.
"Both motions are predicated on same series of entirely meritless claims about the government’s conduct. Since the motions raise similar issues, consolidation of the government’s response will avoid unnecessary duplication," U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said in a court filing last week.

The government asked the court if it could respond in one memo to both of Raniere's motions by June 23.
Multiple experts hired by Raniere, including Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz, have argued that the FBI tampered with evidence in his case.
