'Buckle up' for more Robert Mueller Russia revelations, key Senate Democrat says

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., told more than 100 people at a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee event that they should "buckle up" for more revelations in the Russia investigation in the coming months, boastfully joking that there was information only known to himself and and special counsel Robert Mueller.

“If you get me one more glass of wine, I’ll tell you stuff only Bob Mueller and I know," Warner quipped to the crowd, according to Politico, referring to Mueller's probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and whether President Trump obstructed justice.

"If you think you’ve seen wild stuff so far, buckle up. It’s going to be a wild couple of months," Warner added.

Migrants told they’ll be reunited with children if they sign voluntary deportation order: report

Detained Central American migrants who have been separated from their children have been told they can reunite with them if they agree to voluntarily deportations, The Texas Tribune reported Sunday.

The news outlet, citing a detained Honduran man and two immigration lawyers, reported that the migrants have been told they would be reunited with their children at an airport if they agree to sign off on deportations.

The Honduran man, who was not identified, said he gave up his asylum case and signed the paperwork in an effort to reunite with his 6-year-old daughter. He said he's now trying to rescind his agreement and fight his case in court.

The Devaluation of America and the Law

The immigration debate, fraught with fake news about separation of families, has revealed two ills in American society. One is the devaluation of America as a great nation. The other is the devaluation of law as a good in the civil society.

America is great because we value life, liberty, and property. These rights of American citizens have been protected by the law, to one degree of another, since the founding of our nation. These values are what make America’s greatness far exceed that of other nations. The American experiment of equality before the law and protection of rights has created a nation of prosperity and peace—quite a feat considering the diversity of our society.

These uncommon characteristics shine like a beacon to the rest of the world, and those who see it on the dark horizon of their own failed countries long to come here. We who live in America understand this desire; we are especially sympathetic to those who live in worn-torn nations, riddled with poverty and gang violence.
