Residential area in Russia’s Krasnodar hit by drones – governor

No injuries have been reported after two UAVs crashed, Veniamin Kondratyev says

Two drones hit a residential area in the city of Krasnodar in southern Russia, local governor Veniamin Kondratyev has said, confirming earlier media reports.

The UAVs crashed on Morskaya Street in the center of the city, Kondratyev wrote on Telegram on Friday, adding that no injuries have been reported.

“There is damage to buildings, but critical infrastructure remained unharmed,” he stated.

An investigation has been launched and the local authorities will provide assistance to anyone whose home was damaged in the incident, the governor added.

(The US, EU and NATO supposedly gave Zelensky a mandate that Ukraine cannot use the weapons sent to them, to be used inside of Russia’s territories. I suspect Russia will hit locations where drones are kept. Russia has carefully targeted military and not civilian targets, Ukraine want to kill any and all Russian’s; and they have targeted civilians since at least the Maidan Color Revolution. This against international law to attack civilians but the UN refuses to get involved, just like they did with Biolabs discovery.)

US debt a pyramid scheme – Russia’s top MP

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin accuses Washington of defrauding other nations

Senior Russian lawmaker Vyacheslav Volodin has branded the US federal government debt a global pyramid scheme that is heading for an inevitable collapse. The comments come as Washington struggles to agree on raising its debt ceiling to avoid a default.

“Just think about it, in2023 interest payments on the US debt could reach $1.5 trillion – almost a third of all US budget revenue!“ Volodin, who serves as chairman of Russia’s lower house of parliament, said in a Telegram post on Friday.

“The US public debt is a global financial pyramid, built by Washington to defraud other nations,” the State Duma member wrote. “History has shown that all pyramid schemes eventually fail,” he added, warning that the dollar is becoming toxic.

Countries dependent on the US dollar should start looking for alternatives such as national currencies, to reduce risks for their citizens, Volodin concluded.

TheUS government faces a default on its $31 trillion in debt if lawmakers fail to raise the federal borrowing limit. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned Congress earlier this week that bills can’t be paid if the debt ceiling is not raised by June 1.

Reuters reported on Thursday that President Joe Biden and top Republican lawmaker Kevin McCarthy were edging close to a deal on the debt ceiling but have yet to agree on cuts to discretionary spending, which powers a wide range of military and domestic programs.

Russia started settling trade deals with its partners in national currencies after the US effectively cut it off from dollar-denominated trade as part of sanctions arising from Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Wednesday that the ruble and the yuan are now dominating trade between Russia and China, and are used in 70% of mutual payments.

Suspected drone targets residential area in Krasnodar, Russia (VIDEOS)

An explosion was reported in the provincial capital of the Krasnodar Region

The facade of an office building was damaged in a Friday morning blast in the city of Krasnodar, southern Russia, according to the region's crisis center. Local news outlets and Telegram channels claimed that the facility was likely struck by a Ukrainian drone or its debris, citing eyewitness accounts and sharing photos and videos of the incident.

There were no casualties, according to preliminary information cited by the mayor, Evgeny Naumov, upon arriving at the scene. However, a residential building had several windows blown out. Naumov urged the public to “remain calm” while emergency services are working at the scene.

While authorities have yet to confirm details, popular digital news outlets, including Mash, Baza, Readovka and SHOT, all shared footage of the suspected drone strike.Some reports suggested the UAV was shot down by the air defenses, as eyewitnesses reportedly heard at least two blasts.

In one of the videos, an explosion could be heard seconds after what appears to be a drone flies out of frame.

The Baza Telegram channel shared another video captured by a local, which shows smoke billowing from an area near two cell towers following the explosion.

Meanwhile, Readovka shared pictures of the aftermath, apparently showing the damaged facade of a building that belongs to the Russian cellphone network operator MTS.

In one of the videos shared by SHOT, an unmanned aerial vehicle could be seen flying across the sky, but it is hard to verify where and when the clip was recorded.

A Ukrainian missile has been shot down by Russian air defenses over Rostov Region, the local governor has said. The attack follows a wave of attempted strikes on Russian territory in recent weeks, as Kiev prepares to launch its much-hyped “spring counteroffensive.”

Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev reported the missile attack in a Telegram post on Thursday, sayingat least one projectile was intercepted near the Morozovsk district, located about 255km (158 miles) northeast of the regional capital of Rostov-on-Don.

“An air defense system went off in the Morozovsk area, shooting down a Ukrainian missile,” the official said, adding “The military is doing its job. Keep calm.”

Footage purporting to show the interception has circulated online, with a light seen streaking across the night sky before detonating in mid-flight, after which debris from the missile appears to fall to the ground. It is unclear what type of munition might have been used.
