So , Just my 2 cents on this.
We know Trump wants out of Syria and to stop spending our money on their civil war, etc.
There are also talks underway to create a constitutional commission, that has pointed to representing various factions. Until The factions are unified, nothing will change, so maybe this is to go in that direction. There are approx 58 civil war factions in Syria, something needs to give.
