>So DeSantis is trying to get ahead of Trump in doing what needs to be done to promote unity in targeting the moderates.

He's basically the Lincoln Project Never Trumper wet dream.

That's the clear positioning.

Someone claiming to know the skinny at Target:

>tldr copypasta

I work at Target; a higher up who hands the toy division, working out exclusive content deals with toy makers like Hasbro.

Here is the current skivy on the boycott.

  1. A good chunk of the top brass are FURIOUS that they are getting their shit kicked in with the boycott and the fact that it's having an immediate effect on the company's bottom line. These are the true beliver types who hate anyone who isn't left of Stalin.

  1. The only reason they pulled the Pride stuff by the devil worshipper is that they didn't actually do ANY research into his other content. Someone suggested the company sign him to do a line of Target pride merch, simply because he was gay, and signed him to a deal without ANY research to see if he had any skeletons in his closet/content that would disqualify him.

  1. A different executive greenlit the Tuck swimsuits and has been fighting like crazy to not only keep them from being pulled, but to make them a regular part of the clothing department at Targets everywhere.

  1. The reason Target isn't pushing for more security and ordering staffers to call the cops on in-store protesters, is due to the fact that A. it would cost money and corporate doesn't want to pay out the cash, wanting to make the stores themselves pay for it out of pocket B. the PR department point blank said that if Target starts arresting protestors/complainers who record via cell phone "their protests", then it will create a PR nightmare for Target once those videos hit the internet C. calling the cops would give protestors time to get away, plus the implication of siccing the cops on people who are just louding yelling or regular talking their complaints out to staffers would be horrible for the company's PR, especially if it's posted on the internet.

>(continued)

Finally, a big secret that Target DESPERATELY wants to hide and keep from coming out: PRIDE MONTH ISN'T PROFITABLE!

It's a growing complaint from stores that they have to waste room and up front near the entrance at that, on Pride displays that have merchandise that doesn't fucking sell. Especially in small towns/areas where there are little to no gay people. The merch just doesn't sell and more to the point, a lot of it is sent back and stored and then re-sent back to stores the next year to try and sell.

Adding to this is a scandal that got hushed up a couple of years back; around 2017-2018, the managers from multiple Target stores in the south (mainly in Georgia and Arkansaw) got together and just didn't put out their Pride display/merch. They kept it in the back outside of a couple of shirts that were generic enough that they could be stuck in the mens and women's t-shirt department without drawing attention to them.

Corporate found out, threatened to fire the managers, who defended it by point out that Pride shit doesn't sell and wasn't something their locals supported. The only reason they didn't get fired was that the managers involved were black and they didn't want a scandal of black people trash talking their Pride initiative.

So the whole thing was covered up but as of 2019, corporate instituted a policy where they have underlings secretly visit all Target stores in the US during pride month three times (start, middle, and end) to make damn sure the Pride section has been put out and to fire on the spot, any management that tries to pull a fast one on corporate.
