New law here that charges tax on plastic bags.
Our grocery store self-checkout asks "how many plastic bags would [I] like to purchase?" Not sure how many I end up using, but I always say 0 because that's how many I WOULD like to purchase.

They ask how many "would you like to purchase" because it's all word games. They have to trick you to opt-in because it's fucking illegal bullshit. say zero, no tax, move on.
