the viral protein coat lacks the amino acid lysine.

if the host abstains from all sources of dietary protein and at the same time floods their system with mega doses of L-lysine

then viral replication is disrupted, because the translation machinery cannot find whatever amino acid is required,

and instead transfers a lysine to the protein being assembled, thus destroying its functionality.

this simple strategy will prevent future recurrances of the lesions, and presumptively removes viral genes from the host.

careful study of all viruses could likewise reveal simple dietary strategies to interfere with viral replication.
