News Corp CEO Says Political Prejudices At Advertising Agencies Affect Demonetization Of Some News Outlets

CEO of global media organization News Corp, Robert Thomson, said that he had discovered that staff at advertising agencies were allowing personal “political prejudices” to guide their work. He made the remarks at the International News Media Association (INMA) World Congress of News Media in New York.

“I asked the chief executive of one of the world largest companies why he had an ad ban against the New York Post … (with around 158 million monthly uniques),” he said, according to The Australian.

“The chief exec said he was completely unaware of any such ban – so he checked, and to his genuine and annoyed surprise, a hyper-politicized agency flunkey had a Post prohibition.

“The medium may be the message but unless we are more assertive and there is more transparency, certain advertising agencies will indulge their worst instincts, ad nauseam.”

Thomson said that the frustration with the Global Disinformation Index, a firm funded by the US and UK that provides blacklists of conservative websites to advertisers, was justifiable.

“These arrogant armchair amateurs have undue influence on ad spend by agencies and companies,” he said.

“No masthead is immune to sudden, capricious changes in algorithmic ranking that can affect your ad revenue.”

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Delivers a Fiery, Patriotic Memorial Day Speech Denouncing Left-Wing Ideologies

New York City Mayor Eric Adams gave a completely unexpected Memorial Day speech denouncing socialism and Communism and bemoaning the lack of patriotism from the nation’s young.

Referencing Thomas Jefferson (a mistake, according to the radical left), Adams spoke of the famous “Tree of Liberty.”

“You water the tree of freedom with your blood,” Adams said. “We sit under the shade of that tree of freedom protected from the hot rays of socialism and communism and destruction that’s playing out across the globe.”

Adams referred to himself as a “thirty-eight percenter,” recalling a poll from last year that showed just 38% of Americans were “extremely proud” of the United States.

“Just as I start the day, every child should start the day with that hope and that true Pledge,” he said.

A 22-year veteran of the NYPD, Adams’s speech was not universally applauded — as you might expect.

Target diversity chief demands 'White women' get to work against America's systemic racism

A Target Corporation diversity executive demanded "White women" get to work to combat the supposed systemic racism in America, while adding the retail giant was making some internal decisions based on predictions of shifting demographics.

"One of the hardest things in the world to be every day is Black," Kiera Fernandez, a Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Target, said in a video interview with Essence Magazine in January.

Target has ramped up its DEI efforts, in particular after the death of George Floyd in 2020. Target established the Racial Equity Action and Change – which is led by Fernandez – to rapidly "accelerate" those efforts. The task force focuses on engaging Black customers in stores and ramping up promotions and hiring of Black employees. The retail giant also promised to drastically increase its demographics of Black employees – which was at 50%.

"[W]e’re on track to spend more than $2 billion with Black-owned brands by 2025. We’ve already increased our investments with Black-owned companies and suppliers — including marketing agencies, construction companies, facilities maintenance and more – by 50% since 2020," Fernandez told the HR Digest in July 2022 about Target.

"And in that shift, it's important for us to… think about how do we start planting seeds today that prepare for those future… demographic shifts," she said during a 2021 panel from Twin Cities Business Talks: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion which was posted to YouTube.

She proceeded to say that it was the role of "White women" to call out "transgressions."

"I think the number one thing that I would encourage White women to do is take the [DEI] learnings… and use your voice… so the woman of color in the room doesn't always have to."

She then singled out a White person present in the panel discussion and said that her voice, on the basis of her race, would be given more weight in the workplace.

Chris Christie to join 2024 presidential race after months of campaigning against Trump

Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor who has branded himself as the only Republican willing and able to take down former President Donald Trump, will enter the 2024 presidential race next week, according to reports.

He has been expected to join the race and will formally make the announcement at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday during a town hall at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. The announcement was first reported by Axios and then confirmed by CNN.

Christie joins a growing field of GOP presidential candidates, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, South Carolina congressman Rep. Tim Scott, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson. Former Vice President Mike Pence is another strong contender but has not yet entered the race. And, of course, there's former president Trump.

The former New Jersey governor has sought to set himself apart from other candidates by taking Trump to task. He's criticized other Republican challengers for steering clear of any Trump flak by likening the former president to Lord Voldemort, the Harry Potter series villain whose name is rarely spoken out of fear.

Christie backed Trump in 2016 and 2020, but reached his breaking point on election night in 2020 when the former president stood behind the presidential seal and falsely claimed the election was stolen.
