Strawberry Moon Spiritual Meaning
The strawberry moon is the full moon that occurs in June every year, coinciding with the short berry-harvesting season. “It is the first full moon of summer in the northern hemisphere and, therefore, acelebration of life, fertility, and abundance,” Monahan says.
As for the strawberry moon’s spiritual meaning, Monahan points to what strawberries represent as clues.“Strawberries are associated with the element of water, which is the most fertile element we have,” she explains. “Water provides the perfect conditions for growth. In summertime, it is when our food is the most colorful and available.”
In astrology, summertime isassociated with extroverted, expansive, active, and outward energy. “It is when we are at our most social and when we strive to connect with others,” Monahan says. “It is in stark contrast to wintertime when we are more inclined to hibernate and stay in.” So, the strawberry moon symbolizes all these different fruitful (no pun intended) energies.
Why Is It Called the “Strawberry” Moon?
As mentioned earlier, the strawberry moon gets its name from the berry harvesting season. “The full moon names used by The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from a range of historical sources [such as] Native American and European,” Monahan says.
Monahan also notes that the strawberry moon issometimes called the “Hot Moon” (referencing summer’s hot weather) or “Mead Moon” (after the honey wine used during summer celebrations).
“All names point to the strong social and celebratory name associated with this moon,” she says.

Matt Gaetz backs Mike Rogers’ Space Command investigation months after angry exchange on House floor

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Florida, says he completely supports Alabama CongressmanMike Rogers’ probe into whether the mission behind Space Command has changed.
Rogers on Thursday released a letter saying thesecretary of the Air Force, authorized with making the final decision on the permanent home forSpace Command headquarters, is investigating changes to the mission.
Rogers also announced a probe looking into those changes as well by the House Armed Services Committee that he chairs.
“Alabama was rightfully chosen to be the home of the U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM) Headquarters, but because the people of Alabama support protecting life and reject immoral left-wing policy, there are efforts underway to retaliate and halt construction of the installation,” Gaetz tweeted Friday.
NBC News reported May 17 that “some defense and congressional officials” believe President Biden’s White House is laying the groundwork to stop the command’s move to Alabama “in part because of concerns about the state’s restrictive abortion law.”
Redstone Arsenal has emerged through multiple assessments as the best location for Space Command. Yet the decision remains undetermined despite the Air Force announcementmore than two years ago that Redstone was the preferred location.
“It is unacceptable for the Biden administration to makeunilateral military decisions on the basis of state abortion policy,” Gaetz tweeted. “I look forward to demanding answers from military leadership under oath.”
The message of support from Gaetz comes nearly five months after Rogers had to be held back by one of his colleagues after confronting Gaetz during a contentious late night vote for U.S. House speaker.
Rogers was one of Kevin McCarthy’s top backers of the congressman’s bid for speaker. Gaetz withheld support for McCarthy’s bid through more than a dozen rounds of voting in early January.
Rogers was restrained by Rep. Richard Hudson, R.-N.C., who grabbed Rogers by the face.
Rogers was “frustrated because Gaetz had been holding out for a subcommittee gavel on the Armed Services Committee,” NBC News reported at the time.
After the incident, Gaetz was photographed standing, smiling and flexing his bicep. Gaetz voted “present” on the 15th vote as McCarthy secured the votes he needed to become speaker.
“Glad it’s over,” ABC reported Gaetz said as he walked off the House floor.
The Sunday after the angry Friday night exchange, Rogers tweeted: “I regret that I briefly lost my temper on the House floor Friday evening and appreciate Matt’s kind understanding.”
“I was just exasperated that Matt [Gaetz] was treating [Kevin] McCarthy so badly,” Rogers told The New York Post in an interview.

Ukrainian drone attack being assessed as war crime – Kommersant
Russia’s investigative committee reportedly believes the Ukrainian government sought to sow panic in Moscow
Russian authorities are treating Tuesday’s drone attack on Moscow as a war crime, Russian daily Kommersant has reported, citing sources familiar with the process.A unit specializing in war crimes, genocide and rehabilitation of Nazism, is working on the case within the country’s investigative committee, the newspaper added.
In an article published on Tuesday, Kommersant sources claim a criminal probe had been launched into what is being classified as a terrorist attack by the Ukrainian government. The presumed motive was to spread panic among Moscovites.
The special war crimes unit tasked with probing the UAV raid has previously investigated instances of Ukrainian shelling of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as recent Ukrainian sorties into Russia’s Bryansk and Belgorod regions, the outlet reported.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, a total of eight drones were detected in Moscow’s airspace on Tuesday morning.
Three of those UAVs were suppressed by electronic warfare measures and diverted from their intended route, while the other five were downed by Pantsir-S air defense systems, officials have revealed.
Several residential buildings sustained superficial damage and two people suffered minor injuries as a result of the raid.
The ministry characterized the incident as a “terrorist attack” at the hands of the “Kiev regime.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin echoed that assessment, adding that the Ukrainian government’s main goal was to “intimidate” Russian citizens.
He also revealed that the Russian military had targeted the headquarters of the Ukrainian military’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) in Kiev several days prior. According to Putin, the Ukrainian authorities might have staged the drone raid to avenge that particular strike.
