Chicago City Council Approves $51 Million in Aid for Illegals

While Chicago burns with rampant crime and violence, on Wednesday, the City Council approved $51 million in aid for illegals. The funds will cover for staffing, food and other resources. The vote passed with 34 voting yes and 13 voting no.

While the Council ultimately approved the expenditure, it was not without controversy. Chicagoans are increasingly outraged by how the city is handling the crisis brought on by Joe Biden’s broken border policy.

Ald. David Moore of the 17th Ward voted to reject the funding saying, “If there’s enough to go around, then let’s pass an ordinance where we see the ‘enough.” Moore argued for spending money on Chicago residents like those in his district which is an underserved, majority-Black ward.

The city has warned it’s out of money and space to aid the roughly 10,000 asylum-seekers who have arrived in the city since last August. Over 4,400 are currently living in 11 temporary city-run shelters and respite centers that include former hotels and park field houses, with 610 awaiting housing in police station lobbies, according to a city spokesman.

The funding comes from a 2021 budget surplus that was set aside for “unanticipated emergencies,” according to the city’s budget office. But it’s only a stopgap. City officials previously warned the $51 million will only be enough to last through the end of June, and the city has received just a small fraction of the tens of millions in state and federal funding it’s requested.

“We’re going to continue to have these discussions, because these buses ain’t stopping,” Ald. Gilbert Villegas, 36th Ward, said, referring to the buses of asylum-seekers Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has sent to the city.

The $51 million approved on Wednesday is in addition to the Illinois state budget that was passed last week that included $42.5 million targeted for illegals for shelter, legal representation and translation services.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker still needs to sign the state budget.

Former congressional investigator says there's no excuse for FBI not to give Biden memo to Congress

'This is a subpoena that the Congress in its oversight capacity and legislating capacity has every right to see,' Bobby Charles said.

Former assistant Secretary of State Bobby Charles says that there is no excuse for the FBI not to produce the Biden probe memo to Congress.

"There's no excuse, in my view, for a director of the FBI not to produce a document that Congress has a constitutional and statutory right to, at a time when it is material to a potential criminal investigation of an administration and of a president and a former vice president," Charles said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.

The FBI formally refused earlier this week to turn over to Congress an investigative memo alleging a bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden.

This prompted the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer (R-Ky.), to begin proceedings to hold Director Christopher Wray in contempt.

"This is a subpoena that the Congress in its oversight capacity and legislating capacity has every right to see," Charles stated.

"I think in the courtsand I was a Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals clerkI think they will be vindicated. I think Congress, if they seek the enforcement of this subpoena, will be vindicated," he continued.

Ryan Miller owns the account that posted the video Bass shared. In the video, Miller explains why he’s asking Instagram users to boycott Target and Bud Light: “Here’s the reason biblically why I believe Christians have gotta be boycotting Target, Bud Light, and any other corporation that’s pushing the things they’re pushing.”

“I think a lot of people make this into a political issue, or they say, ‘Oh, what’s the big deal?’”

In the caption of the post the Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher shared on his Instagram story, Miller wrote, “Target has begun pushing the message of transitioning to young people.”

Miller also said he was trying to “expose the darkness that Target is shoving into children’s faces!”
