DC police charge 11-year-old with armed robbery in series of thefts, amid rash of juvenile crimes

An 11-year-old boy was arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Washington, D.C., as the nation's capital struggles with violence perpetrated by and against juveniles, including pre-teenagers.
Two masked youths tried to rob 45-year-old D.C. resident Ryan Cummins last week, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
"When I shoved him, he weighed nothing," Cummins said. "It's disgusting."
Officials charged the 11-year-old with assault with a dangerous weapon in Cummins' case, robbery in connection with a May 26 incident in which car keys were taken and armed robbery in a May 21 incident involving two young men who used a gun to rob a man of his bicycle.
The 11-year-old is among the youngest in D.C. to be arrested for armed robbery this year as officials are concerned that younger children are at a far higher risk of committing crimes than they once were.

My experience with getting documents from the FBI, when they’re redacted it’s all black lines. They don’t show you anything. But I’m going to say on this show. What we told Director Ray, what Senator Grassley told Director Ray, is he and I have already seen the 1023 form. We knew what was in the 1023 form. Until we told Director Ray that he never even admitted that the form existed.
So the level of confidence that we have with Director Wray only went down, it only declined throughout the conversation. So we will go there and look at the Redacted document but we know what’s in the document and the reason we find this allegation credible not only because of the credibility of the whistleblower but because we’ve seen a pattern of Joe Biden when he was vice president, leaving a country after he talks about foreign aid and foreign policy and his family members start receiving payments from that company through shell companies that are then laundered down to Biden family members. So there is a pattern of behavior and we saw that in Romania, we’ve seen that in China, we’ve seen that in other countries that would suggest that this allegation has merit. Look, the Durham report proved that the FBI has lots of issues. We brought that up.
Senator Grassley and I reminded Director Ray that the Durham report was devastating to the credibility of the FBI and his response was that that all happened before he became FBI director. Director Ray, to be clear, will now face contempt of Congress unless he produces this document like we asked this unclassified document by Tuesday or Wednesday whenever we have the markup.

The findings could help explain why New York City, where ventilators were heavily used early in the pandemic, experienced a dramatic spike in COVID mortality even among non-elderly people that wasn't seen in areas with similar demographics and climate.
The Big Apple went so far as splitting ventilators between patients amid a perceived shortage despite the known risks of lung injury from single-user devices delivering too much or too little oxygen to each shared patient.
Northwestern University researchers used machine learning on medical record data to study the trajectory of nearly 600 "mechanically ventilated patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure" in the university hospital's ICU, The Journal of Clinical Investigation paper states. A third tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
They found "high rates of ventilator-associated pneumonia" in the COVID patients, "suggesting that bacterial super-infections such as VAP may contribute to mortality" credited to COVID, whose "relatively low mortality rate" would be "offset by a greater risk of death attributable to unresolving VAP."

The conflict in Ukraine started years ago and the “only mistake” that Russia and Belarus made was not resolving the issue sooner, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday.
Speaking at a meeting of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) security chiefs, Lukashenko stated that the Ukraine conflict began even before the 2014 Maidan coup in Kiev, which ousted the country’s democratically elected president, Viktor Yanukovich.
“I absolutely agree with President [Vladimir] Putin when he says that we did not start this war. It didn’t even start in 2014. It started well before 2014. We saw everything that happened here: the ‘brown’ coup that took place, and what Ukraine has been led into,” Lukashenko declared.
Hostilities were bound to break out sooner or later, the Belarusian leader claimed, adding that even if Moscow had not launched its military operation a year ago, it would have been inevitable anyway – but on even worse terms for Russia and Belarus.
The “only mistake” made by the two countries was continuing their efforts to resolve the conflict through diplomacy, rather than launching military action sooner, Lukashenko insisted.
