Moncef Slaoui is a former scientific director of Covid-19 vaccine development efforts at Operation Warp Speed, a position he held at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) from 2006 to 2017. He was appointed as the scientific head of Operation Warp Speed in May 2021 and stepped down in January 2022. Slaoui was fired from the board of directors of Galvani, a joint venture between Verily and GSK, over allegations of sexual harassment in March 2021. He returned to his previous role as a venture capitalist and announced the launch of a new company, Centessa Pharmaceuticals, in August 2022.0 Slaoui has published more than 100 scientific papers and is a member of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative Board of Directors.1
