Former US Attorney General Bill Barr on Tuesday said he would “bet” an indictment is near in Jack Smith’s classified documents case against Trump.

Special Counsel Jack Smith has been investigating Trump after he stored presidential records at Mar-a-Lago and whether the former president tried to obstruct the probe.

According to CBS News, the decision whether to indict Trump on federal charges is imminent.

Barr was asked about the meeting Trump’s lawyers held with Justice Department officials on Monday.

Bill Barr took a shot at Trump and said the meeting was probably held to complain about the special counsel’s work.

CBS asked Barr if he believes the meeting indicates an indictment is near.

“If I had to bet, I would bet that it’s [an indictment] near,” Barr said.

The former AG defended Jack Smith and said the special counsel’s probe into classified documents is not a witch hunt.

“This is not a case of the Department of Justice conducting a witch hunt,” Barr said on CBS Mornings. “In fact, they approached this very delicately and with deference to the president and this would have gotten nowhere had the president just returned the documents but he jerked them around for a year and a half and the question is did he deceive them?”

Journalists Are Asking Ukrainian Soldiers To Hide Their Nazi Patches, NYT Admits

The New York Times has been forced to very, very belatedly deal with something which had long been obvious and known to many independent analysts and media outlets, but which has been carefully shielded from the mainstream masses in the West for obvious reasons.

The surprising Monday Times headline said that "Nazi Symbols on Ukraine’s Front Lines Highlight Thorny Issues of History." This acknowledgement comes after literally years of primarily indy journalists and geopolitical commentators pointing out that yes indeed… Ukraine's military and paramilitary groups, especially those operating in the east since at least 2014, have a serious Nazi ideology problem. This has been exhaustively documented, again, going back years. But the report, which merely tries to downplay it as a "thorny issue" of Ukraine's "unique" "History" - suggests that the real problem for Western PR is fundamentally that it's being displayed so openly. Ukrainian troops are being asked to cover those Nazi symbols please!–as Matt Taibbi sarcastically quipped in commenting on the report.

The authors of the NYT report begin by expressing frustration over the optics of Nazi symbols being displayed so proudly on many Ukrainian soldiers' uniforms. Suggesting that many journalistic photographs which have in some cases been featured in newspapers and media outlets worldwide (typically coupled with generally positive articles on Ukraine's military) are merely 'unfortunate' or misleading, the NYT report says, "In each photograph, Ukrainians in uniform wore patches featuring symbols that were made notorious by Nazi Germany and have since become part of the iconography of far-right hate groups."

The report admits this has led to controversy wherein news rooms actually must delete some photos of Ukrainian soldiers and militants. "The photographs, and their deletions, highlight the Ukrainian military’s complicated relationship with Nazi imagery, a relationship forged under both Soviet and German occupation during World War II," continues the report.

Sununu Calls for Coalition to Stop Trump, Likely Rallying Behind DeSantis

The New Hampshire globalist is the latest Never Trumper to rear his head once again ahead of 2024.

Globalist New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu announced that he would not run for president because he wants all never-Trump Republicans to rally behind a candidate to stop Trump from winning the GOP Primary. Sununu recently said some very nice things about Ron DeSantis during the Florida Governor’s Trip to New Hampshire, signaling that DeSantis is the candidate that Sununu is talking about.

In the WAPO, Sununu attacked Republicans aiming to be Trump’s VP, writing, “Too many other candidates who have entered this race are simply running to be Trump’s vice president. That’s not leadership; that’s weakness. Too many candidates are afraid to confront Trump, surrendering to his attacks. I will have more credibility speaking out against Trump as a non-candidate to help move the conversation toward the future I believe the Republican Party should embrace.”

Sununu wrote that Never Trump Republicans must rally around a candidate to beat Trump “No one can stop candidates from entering this race, but candidates with no path to victory must have the discipline to get out. Anyone polling in the low single digits by this winter needs to have the courage to hang it up and head home.”

Sununu recently praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis during his visit to New Hampshire, saying, “I actually thought it was a pretty darn good speech. It’s not just about the woke stuff. He talked about fiscal discipline. He’s talking about doing things in Washington that folks haven’t gotten done, and whether that’s Ron or all the candidates, that’s what we have to be talking about.”

In 2016 Ted Cruz and John Kasich combined forces in an attempt to stop Trump from winning the nomination. GOP Primary polls show that Trump is still crushing Ron DeSantis in a head-to-head match-up, meaning that Sununu’s plan looks to fail just like Kasich’s did in 2016.

Feds Raid Office of Texas Border Sheriff Known for Downplaying Mexican Cartel Influence

Federal authorities raided the headquarters of a Texas border sheriff’s office whose top official is widely known for claiming that the border is safe. The sheriff frequently minimizes cartel activity even though one of Mexico’s most violent criminal organizations operates in his county.

On Monday, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations raided the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in Laredo, Texas. The Laredo Morning Times first reported on the raid. Breitbart Texas contacted an FBI spokesman who confirmed that they executed court-authorized law enforcement activities at the building but could not provide additional details.

The United Independent School District in Laredo issued a prepared statement confirming that a second raid had taken place at their offices in connection with Disinfect Promaster. That company is owned by Web County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Chief Ricardo “Rick” Rodriguez. The assistant chief also serves as a board member in the school district. In response to the raid, the school board stated that they did not have the authority to remove Rodriguez, but they would be meeting this week to discuss the issue.

By Monday afternoon, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office sent out a prepared statement claiming that the case was also tied to Rodriguez and Disinfect Promaster.

In their statement, sheriff’s officials claimed that sheriff’s employees cooperated with authorities and that Sheriff Martin Cuellar was questioned about employees disinfecting services carried out in county buildings, churches, and daycares. “He explained that this service was provided through the Sheriff’s Office and not through the company,” the statement revealed.

During his time as sheriff, Cuellar has made a name for himself for his constant claim that the border is safe and for minimizing the presence of drug cartels in Laredo. This is despite the fact that the city is one of the main trafficking routes used by the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas.

In 2015, Martin Cuellar claimed that a large-scale marijuana growing operation with more than 1,070 plants and with security guards armed with AK-47s was not tied to Los Zetas. As Breitbart Texas reported exclusively at the time a spokesman for the National Border Patrol Council revealed that the grow operation was tied to a Mexican drug cartel.

Cuellar is also the brother of U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) who was himself the target of an FBI raid in January 2022. Federal authorities served search warrants in his office and home, also in Laredo. As Breitbart Texas reported, the case was tied to a federal grand jury inquiry into Cuellar, his wife, and unnamed associates in relation to dealings with foreign officials from Azerbaijan and favors allegedly granted in exchange for valuables. At the time, the investigation caused much speculation about possible arrests or investigations. Since then, that case appears to have gone dormant.

Nike Marks Pride Month With Doc Who Does Kids’ Gender Surgeries, Leaked Email Shows

Nike will celebrate Pride Month by hosting a panel discussion with a surgeon who said he performed “gender affirming mastectomies” on minors, a leaked email obtained by The Daily Wire reveals.

The email begins by stating, “This year’s theme is Together We Are Undeniable. The LGBTQIA+ community continues to fight for equality – their fight to be themselves.”

It goes on to explain that the theme “centers around determination; celebrating icons of the community and the progress we have and will continue to make in light of recent attacks and restrictions on the community and their allies.”

The Portland-based corporation will host a panel discussion with Dr. Blair Peters, a surgeon at the Oregon Health and Science University, who has admitted to performing “gender affirming mastectomies” on minors.

“Join the Human Rights Campaign, Portland Community Football Club’s Kaig Lightner, and OHSU Trans Health Program’s Dr. Blair Peters for a panel and Q&A to discuss policies impacting the transgender community,” the leaked email says, advertising the July 11 event.

In a now-deleted tweet from last year, Peters said he had “performed gender affirming mastectomies (top surgeries) for 3 young adults and adolescents” in one day.

Critical Dam in Southern Ukraine that Provides Water to Crimea Destroyed

The massive Nova Kakhovka Dam was blown up Tuesday morning, with Kiev and Moscow trading blame for the attack

The Nova Kakhovka Dam, located in southern Ukraine along the Dnipro River, was destroyed on Tuesday. While Kiev and Moscow are accusing each other of the attack, Russia will suffer more consequences of the dam’s destruction.

The dam was built by the USSR during the 1950s and, for over a year, has sat on the frontlines of the war in Ukraine. It is nearly 100 feet tall and over 10,000 feet wide. The dam was constructed as a hydroelectric power plant and created the Kakhovka Reservoir, which is over 2,000 sq km. Europe’s largest nuclear power plant – the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and the Crimean Peninsula receive water from the reservoir.

An explosion reportedly ripped through the dam on Tuesday morning, causing flooding to begin downstream. It is unclear if the attack was intentional. The BBC noted the dam had been damaged within the last week.

The most immediate impact of the dam’s destruction is flooding surrounding areas, which is expected to displace at least 16,000 people. A Ukrainian official said eight towns have already been partially or completely flooded. The flooding is expected to be worse in areas controlled by Russia.

The region will also suffer environmental damage from the flooding and tonnes of industrial lubricant used in the hydroelectric power plant.

Another concern is the ZNPP, which is controlled by Russian forces. The Kakhovka Reservoir provided cooling water to the massive power plant. The IAEA, the UN’s nuclear watchdog group, said it is “closely monitoring the situation,” but there is “no immediate nuclear safety risk.”

Kiev immediately blamed Moscow for the attack, calling it a “terrorist attack and war crime.” Ukraine’s Defense Ministry suggested Russia destroyed the dam as a tactical defense of the region.

Ukrainian President Zelensky claimed it was impossible for Ukrainians to have carried out the dam’s destruction. "Russia has been controlling the dam and the entire Kakhovka HPP for more than a year. It is physically impossible to blow it up somehow from the outside, by shelling." He continued, "It was mined by the Russian occupiers. And they blew it up."

Blinken’s AIPAC speech puts US-Israel ties into perspective - analysis

Many people reduce the state of US-Israel ties to when US President Joe Biden will invite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House.

A Biden invitation means the ties are good; no invitation means they are bad. The longer Biden delays, according to this way of thinking, the more this indicates that the relationship between Jerusalem and Washington is in the doldrums.

Forget that senators and members of Congress from both sides of the aisles come here regularly, as do governors. Forget that the head of Centcom General Michael “Erik” Kurilla is a frequent visitor. Forget that Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi were in Washington this week for talks.

None of that matters. None of that attests to a robust relationship. According to those interested in highlighting differences between the US and Israel, the only true gauge is whether Biden wants to see Netanyahu in the Oval Office.

If the president does not want Netanyahu as a guest—as Biden unceremoniously said on March 28, at least not in the “near term”—then Netanyahu’s political opponents and the heads of the anti-judicial overhaul movement use that as proof that Netanyahu and the overhaul are seriously damaging Israel’s relationship with its greatest ally.

But then along comes US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who throws a wrench in this love-on-the-rocks narrative. On Sunday, Blinken delivered a warm pro-Israel address to an American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) gathering in Washington.

The US-Israel partnership “touches on every aspect of our lives, from security to business, from energy to public health,” Blinken said. “And the depth and breadth of that partnership between our governments are matched only by the strength of the ties between our peoples. This partnership between the United States and Israel is indispensable.”

Or consider this: “The US-Israel relationship is underwritten by the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security. That commitment is non-negotiable; it is ironclad.”

Or this: “This year, we have more joint [military] exercises scheduled than at any point in our history.”

Or this: “America is more secure when Israel is strong.”

Those words give testimony to the strength and breadth of the relationship and run contrary to the feeling that the lack of a Netanyahu-Biden powwow in Washington is the be-all and end-all sign of a strong relationship. (The UN General Assembly meeting begins on September 20. Don’t be surprised if Netanyahu and Biden meet then as part of Netanyahu’s likely trip to New York to address the UN.)

Is a Biden invitation to Netanyahu important? Undeniably, becuase chemistry and the personal relationship between leaders have a huge impact on the tenor of ties. It is also essential in that it sends a message to Israel’s friends and enemies alike about the intimacy of the relationship.

But is such a meeting all-important? No, the relationship between the two countries is wide enough and deep enough to withstand a year without a prime ministerial visit to Washington.

The bulk of Blinken’s 3,000-word speech to AIPAC was positive. One paragraph dealt with Blinken reiterating Washington’s more than five-decade-old policy of opposing settlement growth. Predictably, however, that paragraph was highlighted in many reports about the speech.

Why? Because that paragraph underlined where the countries disagree, and in the US-Israel relationship, the news is where there is disagreement, not agreement

200 LGBTQ groups demand Target restock Pride merch, release statement now: 'No such thing as neutrality'

Target market cap down over $13 billion amid Pride backlash

More than 200 LGBTQ groups angered by Target's decision to pull Pride merchandise from shelves are demanding the company "denounce extremists" and restock all the Pride merchandise in stores and online.

The Human Rights Campaign, along with GLAAD, GLSEN and other groups, released a statement asking Target and other businesses like Anheuser-Busch to "reject and speak out against anti-LGBTQ+ extremism going into Pride Month." More than 200 other progressive and LGBTQ organizations signed on to the statement, which argued that showing support for their community was good for business.

The organizations laid out a three-part demand that calls on Target to restock all the Pride merchandise both in stores and online, ensure the safety of Target employees and release a statement "reaffirming their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community" within 24 hours.

"When it comes to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, there is no such thing as neutrality," the LGTBQ coalition said.

The coalition suggested they would continue to support Target and other businesses who rejected criticism from consumers.

"Target, and all businesses, can leverage the support of LGBTQ+ organizations to navigate this hate, so that together, we can let extremists know unequivocally that, just as with every other failed anti-LGBTQ+ campaign of the past, fear will not win," the statement reads.

Target displays LGBTQ-themed apparel annually leading into June. However, the retail giant came under increased scrutiny after consumers noticed stores selling "tuck-friendly" women's bathing suits for transgender people and Pride apparel for children and infants.

The company responded to widespread backlash over the Pride merchandise by moving some Pride products to less prominent sections of the store and removing other merchandise altogether. Target said it moved the products to ensure employees' safety.

Fauci Praised 'Competent, Trustworthy Scientists' in Wuhan. His Own Agency Said They Needed Ethics Training Over 'Research Misconduct.'

Fauci's NIH launched $300,000 effort to combat 'research misconduct,' 'publication fraud' in Chinese research institutions

Dr. Anthony Fauci in 2021 dismissed concerns that U.S.-funded Chinese scientists lied about performing risky gain-of-function research, calling those scientists "competent" and "trustworthy." But a publicly disclosed grant shows Fauci's own agency was simultaneously funding ethics training for Chinese scientists over widespread "research misconduct."

Fauci's National Institutes of Health in 2019 launched a $300,000 grant to "strengthen research integrity" at China's Center for Disease Control and Prevention and two other major Chinese research institutions. Troubling instances of "research misconduct," "inadequate ethical review," and "publication fraud" at the institutions, the agency wrote in its grant description, "have had a negative impact on Chinese scientists and their U.S. collaborators" and "highlighted China's underdeveloped research ethics capacity and infrastructure," prompting the need for ethics and integrity training.

The agency's concerns contradict Fauci's own comments to Congress in 2021. In May 2021, roughly a year after the coronavirus came to the United States, Fauci insisted that scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were both "competent" and "trustworthy" and would not have used American money to conduct gain-of-function research, which aims to make viruses intentionally more transmissible. That October, the National Institutes of Health admitted that Chinese scientists at the lab indeed used U.S. funds to create a coronavirus that was more infectious in mice.

"Dr. Fauci, I believe you have testified that you didn't give any money to the Wuhan lab to conduct gain-of-function research. Is that right?" Louisiana Republican senator John Kennedy asked Fauci during the May 2021 Senate hearing. "That is correct," Fauci responded.

"How do you know they didn't lie to you and use the money for gain-of-function research anyway?" Kennedy shot back. "In our experience with grantees, including Chinese grantees, which we have had interactions with for a very long period of time, they are very competent, trustworthy scientists," Fauci concluded.

In addition to the National Institutes of Health ethics training grant—which came as Fauci served as the agency's allergy and infectious diseases director—the Chinese government's refusal to participate in an international investigation into COVID-19's origins undercut Fauci's comments. Prior to the virus's outbreak, U.S. science diplomats issued warnings about safety and management issues at the Wuhan lab, including concerns that the lab's work on bat coronaviruses could create a pandemic. The Energy Department has since concluded that COVID probably originated in a lab. The FBI also believes the so-called lab leak theory with "moderate confidence."

"It's no secret that China's been hugely obstructive. Hugely obstructive," Missouri Republican senator Josh Hawley said in March. "And, you know, that's going to continue, but that doesn't mean that we can sit back and say we'll never know. And indeed, we have multiple agencies now that think they do know."

Adam Andrzejewski, the founder of the fiscal watchdog group OpenTheBooks, blasted Fauci's National Institutes of Health for funding Chinese scientists while questioning their conduct.

"Our health, wealth, and national security should not be in question when we hand out grants and contracts," Andrzejewski told the Washington Free Beacon. His group last week released a report outlining $490 million in taxpayer-funded grants paid to Chinese organizations from 2017 to 2022. Two million dollars of that money, the report found, went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The National Institutes of Health did not return a request for comment.

Netanyahu Promoting Armed Intifada in West Bank

By satisfying an extremist religious constituency, Ramzy Baroud says the prime minister is turning Israel into a country with leaders determined to institute a religious war.

After signing a military decree on May 18, allowing illegal Israeli Jewish settlers to reclaim the abandoned Homesh settlement located in the northern Occupied West Bank, the Israeli government has informed the Biden administration it will not turn the area into a new settlement.

The latter revelation was reported by Axios on May 23. This contradiction is hardly surprising. While Israel’s far-right ministers, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, know precisely what they want, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to perform an impossible political act: he wants to fulfill all the wishes of Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, but without veering off the U.S. political agenda in the Middle East, and without creating the circumstances that could eventually topple the Palestinian Authority.

Moreover, Netanyahu wants to normalize with Arab governments while continuing to colonize Palestine, expand settlements and have complete control over Al-Aqsa Mosque and other Palestinian Muslim and Christian holy shrines.

Worse still, he wants, per the insistence of Ben-Gvir and his extremist religious constituency, to repopulate Homesh and create new outposts while avoiding an all-out armed rebellion in the West Bank.

Concurrently, Netanyahu wants good relations with the Arabs and Muslims while constantly humiliating, oppressing and killing Arabs and Muslims.

Indeed, such a feat is virtually impossible.

Netanyahu is not a novice politician who is failing at appeasing all his target audiences simultaneously. He is a right-wing ideologue who uses the Zionist ideology and religion as the foundation of his political agenda. Anywhere else, especially in the Western world, Netanyahu would have been perceived to be a far-right politician.

Diplomatic Engagement

One of the reasons that the West is yet to brand Netanyahu as such is that if there is a general agreement that Netanyahu is an affront to democracy, it would be difficult to engage with him diplomatically.

While the likes of Italy’s far-right government of Giorgia Meloni hosted Netanyahu last March, U.S. President Joe Biden is yet to meet the Israeli leader in person, months after the latter composed his latest government of far-right religionists.

Netanyahu is aware of all these challenges and that his country’s reputation, even among allies, is in tatters. The Israeli leader, however, is determined to persevere for his own sake.

It took five elections in four years for Netanyahu to assemble a relatively stable government. New elections carry risks, as the opposition leader, Yair Lapid, is slated to win a majority of seats if a sixth election is held.

But satisfying Ben-Gvir and others is turning Israel into a country governed by populist, nationalist leaders determined to institute a religious war. Judging by the evidence on the ground, they might get what they want.

Christian man arrested after quoting Bible at Pennsylvania Pride march

The crowd cheered as they watched Atkins get handcuffed and hauled away from the event.

On Saturday, a man was arrested while protesting a Pride event outside City Hall in Reading, Pennsylvania. Police detained Damon Atkins, a self-proclaimed born-again Christian, less than a minute after he arrived on the scene.

At the time of his arrest, Atkins was standing across the street from the event and holding up a sign that read "Jesus said I am the truth, the way, the life" on one side, and "Jesus said go and sin no more" on the other.

The entire incident was caught on camera by Matthew Wear, a local resident, and fellow Christian who had been preaching at the protest.

As soon as Atkins arrived on the scene, Officer Bradley McClure approached and appeared to warn him.

"This is public property," Atkins said, standing his ground.

"Let them have their day," McClure replied, referring to the dozens of people celebrating Pride. He then asked Atkins to show some "respect."

"Oh I'm respecting," Atkins said, pointing to his sign. "You know who's cheering for us? The people that are in hell. So you do you, and I'm gonna do me."

At that point, McClure walked away before promptly turning around and coming back after Atkins began preaching.

According to an affidavit obtained by the Lancaster Patriot, McClure said he warned Atkins about what sort of behavior was and wasn't allowed, and sought to have him arraigned for "disorderly conduct."

"I immediately approached him," McClure wrote, "and told him that while he was free to stand on that side of the street and hold his sign, he could not cross the street nor yell comments intended to disrupt the event."

The crowd cheered as they watched Atkins get handcuffed and hauled away from the event.

"I can't believe this is in Reading," Wear lamented. "This is an unjust arrest, and we have it on film!"

Wear followed Atkins as he was taken around the corner and questioned on the curb.

While this was going on, Reading Pride executive director Enrique Castro commented on the situation from the stage.

"To all who are who are holding signs that refer to religion," he said, "I would say God bless you, Allah bless you … and put some love into that heart of yours."

Atkins is set to appear in court on June 16.

The operational taskforce consists of law enforcement personnel from the Netherlands, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, along with specialists and analysts from Europol’s European Financial and Economic Crime Centre.

Outgoing Qantas CEO Alan Joyce sells $17 million in shares in the airline as they continue to rise

Alan Joyce has dumped $17 million of his shares in Qantas, five months before he officially leaves his role as CEO of the airline.

Departing Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has sold $17 million worth of shares in the airline he has led for over a decade.

Mr Joyce sold 2.5 million shares, which he has reportedly held since 2012 when they were trading at about $1.50. They were sold through ANZ for $6.74 on Thursday.

The outgoing Qantas CEO now has just 228,924 shares remaining.

Qantas' stock dropped on Tuesday afternoon to $6.35, as of 4.10pm, however it has grown exponentially in the last 12 months with flights returning to normal scheduling and travel increasing after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The offloading of Mr Joyce's shares comes just a month after announcing his retirement from the position of Qantas CEO.

The company forecast an underlying pre-tax profit of between $2.425 million and $2.475 million for the 2023 Financial Year.

He will finish up in November after 15 years as CEO, welcoming Chief Financial Officer Vanessa Hudson as his successor and the first female CEO of the airline.

Mr Joyce said his plans to retire in 2020 were derailed by the pandemic.

"My intent was to look at that as the appropriate time to go, but I never got there," he said.

"The board and shareholders asked me to stay on, we raised activity on the basis of that commitment that helped us get through it, that commitment was I would stay to the end of this year."

Mr Joyce said leaving the airline would be "bittersweet".

"Qantas is a big part of my life after that length of time, it's an iconic brand, I will miss the company and the people," the outgoing CEO said.

"At the same time I'm really excited about future opportunities and myself and my husband are staying here in Sydney and we are looking forward to doing a lot more in the community here."

Mr Joyce has just recently purchased a $9 million penthouse in The Rocks with husband Shane Lloyd, with the coupling planning to double its size after securing a half-floor apartment next to the property, according to Australian Financial Review.

The couple are set to sell their 15-room Mosman Bay mansion just over 12 months after splashing $19 million on the waterfront property.

Human Rights Campaign Declares A National State Of Emergency For LGBTQ People: Claims Homophobia Causing Gays To ‘Flee Their Homes’

The Human Rights Campaign, America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, declared a national state of emergency for members of the LGBTQ+ community on Tuesday.

The group’s president Kelley Robinson claims public disdain against the LGBTQ community has forced many gay and trans people to flee their homes.

“LGBTQ+ Americans are living in a state of emergency. The multiplying threats facing millions in our community are not just perceived — they are real, tangible and dangerous,” Robinson said. “In many cases, they are resulting in violence against LGBTQ+ people, forcing families to uproot their lives and flee their homes in search of safer states, and triggering a tidal wave of increased homophobia and transphobia that puts the safety of each and every one of us at risk.”

In addition to the emergency declaration, the group commemorated Pride Month with the release of a digital guidebook designed to assist “LGBTQ+ travelers and those living in hostile states.”

The digital book provides “health and safety” resources to and summarizes which states it deems discriminatory to the queer community amid “an unprecedented wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in 2023.”

But the travel advisory isn’t enough to help the victims in states where lawmakers are targeting LGBTQ, Robinson told the Associated Press.

“We need champions right now,” she said. “When Dobbs fell, you saw a federal response to deal with the abortion crisis that we’re in. We are in a crisis of even greater scale to the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community, and we need that same sort of response.

“The amount of calls I get every day from parents asking how they can move to another state because they’d rather mourn their home than their child is real. This is a different level of urgency and demanded a different level of response.”

The Human Rights Campaign also issued an advisory to its members last month, warning about the perils of traveling to Florida, where GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis has passed the Parental Rights in Education Act. The law prohibits school employees or third parties from instructing kids on sexual orientation and gender identity in grades kindergarten through third grade.

LGBTQ advocates characterize the measure as the “Don’t Say Gay” law and claim legislation is part of a larger effort to erase them from Florida schools and society.

“While not a blanket recommendation against travel nor a call for boycott, the travel advisory outlines the devastating impacts of laws that are hostile to the LGBTQ community,” the Human Rights Campaign said in a statement.

The group insists it will not back down from any attempts to stymie the community: “LGBTQ+ people nationwide will not be erased — not now, not ever,” the group said.

Pomerantz released a book earlier this year titled "People vs. Donald Trump," which detailed his involvement in the investigation of the former president.

Rep. Matt Gaetz on Tuesday introduced a resolution to hold former Trump probe prosecutor Mark Pomerantz in contempt of Congress because, the Florida Republican congressman says, Pomerantz refused to answer questions about his time as a prosecutor despite writing a tell-all book about it.

The House Weaponization of the Federal Government Select Subcommittee, of which Gaetz is a member, subpoenaed ex-Manhattan prosecutor Pomerantz in April. The prosecutor testified to Congress the following month after failing in his challenges against the subpoena.

"However, during his appearance, he failed to comply with the subpoena by incorrectly asserting his Fifth Amendment right when asked questions about information he referenced in his book," Gaetz said.

"I believe Mr. Pomerantz engaged in misconduct in his targeting of President Trump, and his refusal to answer simple questions should not go unpunished," Gaetz also said.

Pomerantz should be held in contempt and forced to answer Congress' questions, and if he does not comply then the House Sergeant at Arms "must summon him by force," Gaetz added.

Pomerantz resigned along with New York County District Attorney Carey Dunne from the Manhattan prosecutor's office in February 2022. Pomerantz expressed frustration in his resignation letter that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg would not indict former President Donald Trump, who was eventually charged in April with 34 counts related to the alleged falsification of business records.

Pomerantz released a book earlier this year titled "People vs. Donald Trump," which detailed his involvement in the investigation of the former president.
