Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's 'Sister Roma' honored by Scott Wiener, California's LGBTQ Caucus

"Thank you so much, Senator Wiener. This has been an amazing honor."

On Monday, the California State Legislature honored a member of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with a community service award, despite nationwide backlash against the anti-Catholic group of drag nuns. The group will also be featured by the LA Dodgers at the Pride night on June 16.

Democrat state rep Scott Wiener presented the official honor to "sister Roma," where he recognized the trans-identified "drag nun" for exceptional service to the community. Wiener has also made the California a "sanctuary state" for children who want to undergo sex changes without parental consent or knowledge. The law also allows the state to strip custody from parents who won't go along with their children's wish to change sex.

"I'm Scott Wiener," he said while honoring the "drag nun."

"I have the honor of representing San Francisco and northern San Mateo County in the California State Senate. Today, we just completed our assembly and senate Pride ceremony where our LGBTQ Legislative Caucus honored a number of amazing community leaders from throughout the state," Wiener said as he stood behind the podium.

"I nominated sister Roma for an honor based on her many, many, many years of stellar service to our community," the rep said, standing alongside the trans-identified "drag nun."

"I know there was some some discussion and political discourse around this particular honor but I'm just so proud of sister Roma and her work in the community," Wiener stated.

Roma is a drag queen that dresses as a Catholic nun and belongs to The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an anti-Catholic trans group that mocks Christianity. The group's motto is "Go forth and sin some more." They claim to be "a leading-edge order of queer and trans nuns."

The drag queens perform shows in which they dress as both Catholic nuns and Jesus Christ, pole dancing and stripping on crosses, drinking fake semen from baby bottles, and gyrating on stage to Christian music.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence first came in the spotlight after the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they would be honoring the group with a "community hero award" at the ballpark's Pride Night later this month, which received nationwide backlash and calls for boycotts.

Scott Weiner recognized the backlash and said, "I'm proud of California for standing strong to support LGBTQ people, as our community is under assault in the rest of the country."

Roma accepted the award and said, "Thank you so much, Senator Wiener. This has been an amazing honor."

"To be included with this amazing list of nominees was probably one of the biggest honors that I've ever had. To come into this beautiful state capitol, which I've never been in before, and to be in this location where all of the decisions are made that affect our lives every day, feels important and impactful. So to be recognized here means a lot to me but also to the LGBTQ community at large."

House Republicans Introduce Legislation To Stop DOD From Funding Drag Shows

Montana Republican Rep. Matt Rosendale introduced legislation Monday evening that prohibits the Department of Defense (DOD) from paying for, hosting or supporting adult cabaret performances.

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the bill, which defines an “adult cabaret performance” as a performance that features topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dances, strippers or male or female impersonators who provide entertainment that appeals to prurient interest.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has said the DOD does not support or fund the shows, but Military.com reported that Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada had planned to host an all ages drag show June 1. The show was canceled due to orders from Austin banning drag performances on military bases.

Rosendale previously sent letters to Austin regarding a “Drag Story Time” event held June 30, 2021, at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana, which is in Rosendale’s district.

“Anything that does not help our troops be the most effective fighting force on earth is a distraction and a waste of resources,” Rosendale told the Caller before introducing the legislation.

The legislation has seven Republican cosponsors: Tennessee Rep. Diana Harshbarger, Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, Montana Rep. Ryan Zinke, Oklahoma Rep. Josh Brecheen, Wyoming Rep. Harriet Hageman, Florida Rep. Bill Posey and North Carolina Rep. Dan Bishop.

“Per DoD Joint Ethics Regulation (JER), certain criteria must be met for persons or organizations acting in non-federal capacity to use DoD facilities and equipment,” Defense Department spokesperson Sabrina Singh said in a statement to Military.com. “As Secretary Austin has said, the DoD will not host drag events at U.S. military installations or facilities. Hosting these types of events in federally funded facilities is inconsistent with regulations regarding the use of DoD resources.”

Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines led this effort in the Senate. Rosendale’s bill is a House companion to his legislation.

LEAK: Special Counsel Jack Smith Summons Witnesses Linked to Trump’s Classified Docs Probe to Testify Before Grand Jury in FLORIDA!

Special Counsel Jack Smith has now summoned witnesses linked to Trump’s classified documents case to testify before a FLORIDA grand jury!

Jack Smith has been investigating Trump after he stored presidential records at Mar-a-Lago and whether the former president tried to obstruct the probe.

Jack Smith and his team of prosecutors are currently presenting evidence in the classified documents case to a DC grand jury.

However, according to leaks to the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, Jack Smith is now pursuing possible indictments against Mar-a-Lago staffers or Trump aides in Florida!

Bloomberg noted evidence collected from the grand jury in Florida may be used in the DC case against Trump.

“It wasn’t immediately clear what the Florida activity means for the future direction of Smith’s work. Justice Department rules generally state that prosecutors can only present a case for indictment to a grand jury in the district where a particular offense took place, although they can use evidence they’ve collected in front of panels sitting elsewhere. It’s possible, for instance, that Smith’s office could pursue indictments against certain people in Florida and others in Washington.” Bloomberg reported.

Bloomberg reported:

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office in recent weeks has issued federal grand jury subpoenas out of southern Florida to multiple witnesses linked to the classified documents probe involving former President Donald Trump, according to two people familiar with the investigative steps.

One witness is expected to testify this week before a grand jury in Florida, the people said, and at least one additional witness already has appeared, according to one of the people. Both sources requested anonymity to discuss nonpublic court activity.

Smith’s presence in Florida, which was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, marks a new front for the Justice Department’s records investigation, which for more than a year has unfolded in secret grand jury proceedings in federal district court in Washington. Prosecutors have been exploring whether Trump or anyone else mishandled sensitive national security information or tried to obstruct the government’s efforts to retrieve documents taken when he left the White House.

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s prosecutors questioned at least one witness after an employee at Mar-a-Lago drained the Florida resort’s pool in October and ended up flooding a room full of computer servers that maintained surveillance video, according to a leak to CNN.

The IT equipment and servers were not damaged by the flooding, however, federal prosecutors still found it suspicious.

Since the flooding happened after Trump received a subpoena for classified records and surveillance footage, prosecutors may use it to build an obstruction conspiracy case, CNN reported.

President Trump’s lawyers on Monday met with Justice Department officials on the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case a couple weeks after requesting a meeting.

According to CBS News, the decision whether to indict Trump on federal charges is imminent.

Jack Smith is also investigating Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election.
