A Letter from Nancy Pelosi This Morning Needs to Be Straightened out.
I would SHARE it so maybe you can straighten her out too. It means you have to waste time and actually contact her. . .
Protecting San Francisco Families from Devastating Default
Passage of the Bipartisan Budget Agreement
On Thursday, I delivered remarks on the Floor of the House of Representatives in support of the Bipartisan Budget Agreement.
It is the Constitutional duty of the Congress to protect the full faith and credit of the United States. In the Bipartisan Budget Agreement, we honor our sworn oath as lawmakers to uphold this Constitutional duty. While I find this legislation objectionable, it will avert an unprecedented default, which would bring devastation to America's families: millions of jobs eliminated, trillions in savings erased, higher cost on loans, mortgages, car payments, credit card bills and more.
I commend President Biden for his responsible leadership to prevent this unconscionable outcome, while protecting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, protecting health care for our veterans as our Commander-in-Chief, climate, infrastructure and our economy.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month
Pride Month is a celebration of the beauty and vibrancy of our nation's LGBTQ+ community and the many extraordinary Americans who fought against discrimination and persecution in the fight for full equality.
As LGBTQ+ Americans proudly march this month through the streets of San Francisco and across the country, we are reminded of the incalculable contributions that they have made to our Nation: from combating HIV/AIDS to ending Donโt Ask, Donโt Tell to securing protections against hate crimes. And last year, the Democratic Congress enacted the landmark Respect for Marriage Act: a historic law that finally enshrined marriage equality into federal law.
This year, as the MAGA movement accelerates its hostility toward the trans community, Pride is an important opportunity for Americans to express our love and solidarity. In standing up and speaking out against bigotry, hate and discrimination, we renew our resolve to protect our hard-won progress for LGBTQ+ communities and fight to ensure justice, dignity and respect for all Americans.
Observance of Memorial Day
On Monday, our Nation observed Memorial Day: when Americans come together to pay tribute to the valiant servicemembers who gave their last full measure of devotion to defend our Democracy. As long as freedom rings across our Nation, their valor, patriotism and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Each generation, a courageous few have stepped forward to keep Americans safe and America secure. We owe these patriots, and their families, an unpayable debt of gratitude. Let us always strive to build a world worthy of their sacrifice.

This week, my office was contacted by a constituent who had to travel abroad to renew their visa. At their interview, a clear processing error led to delays in the agencyโs ability to issue the visa, which left the constituent trapped abroad. My staff wrote to the appropriate consulate to request a speedy correction of the processing error, and the applicant received their visa the very next day.
