I've recently had to come to terms with the fact that I have lived long enough to be married to an old woman
-and I find it important to recognize this when she "acts like an old woman."
I can't control her activities, but I can control my response to them.
I hope she is a good cook, anyway…
I found myself avoiding a divorce by explaining that she was in a position to not have a care in the world, and so anger as a first response to all the things is bad form …and if she thought I'd be spending my old age getting treated like shit by her -she was out of her fucking mind.
Been smooth and happy for years now. She spent some time sorting her problems that had nothing to do with me.
Marriages before 40 and after 40 are entirely different playgrounds too. The early ones have many volatile variables, the later ones are mainly just about finding the peace and means to coexist. :D
