Former Sumner County Food Bank director accused of paying volunteer for sex acts

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. – A former Sumner County Food Bank director is indicted for stealing from the non-profit, as well as paying a volunteer for sex acts.

James Gill, 81, of Bethpage, is taken into custody Friday, accused of stealing thousands from the food bank, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. He has been under investigation for over a year.

The TBI says Gill used the food bank's money to make personal purchases and that he wrote bad checks to himself and others from the food bank’s account and transferred the money to other accounts under a different non-profit name. They also allege he paid a food bank volunteer for sex acts.
