Belarus President Lukashenko Warns He Will Not Hesitate to Use Nuclear Missiles if Western Nations Attack the Country

In the whole nightmare escalation scenarios of the war in the Ukraine, probably nothing so far has been more disturbing than today’s warning by Belarusian president Lukashenko about his absolute willingness to use nuclear missiles and bombs to defend his country.

“Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Tuesday that he wouldn’t hesitate to order the use of Russian tactical nuclear weapons – that are set to be deployed to Belarus – if his country faces an aggression.

Earlier this year, Vladimir Putin announced the planned deployment of short-range nuclear weapons to Moscow’s neighbor and ally Belarus in a move widely seen as a warning to the West as it stepped up military support for Ukraine.

‘God forbid I have to make a decision to use those weapons today, but there would be no hesitation if we face an aggression,’ Lukashenko, known for his blustery statements, said, according to the state news agency BelTA.”

Lukashenko also stated that Russia’s neighbor has received missiles and bombs from Russia that are 3 times more powerful than those used by the US on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end WW2.

The nukes stored in Belarus will be split up across country and not remain in a single place, he added.

Lukashenko explained that the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus was his request, and an urgent demand to the Russian side, in order to guarantee security of his country.

‘Russia is not striving for anything. It’s not about Russia’

Ther Belarusian leader also commented on the rumors about the disease he had supposedly suffered: ‘I am still alive and will live’.

“Everything that was written is a terrible lie. I just had to carry it all on my feet. It is better not to endure the disease while standing up. […] I was on my feet, running, jumping, even playing hockey. But I realized that it’s better not to stand, because then it will take a long time to recover.”

Last Thursday, Baltimore City Police Commissioner Michael Harrison stepped down as the progressive-run city struggles with homicides, a drug crisis, and a troubling rise in violence involving teenagers. Now NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell announced her resignation on Monday, an abrupt decision that has left "the nation's largest police department shocked," ABC7 New York reported.

Sewell was appointed by Mayor Eric Adams in 2022 after he pledged to nominate a Black woman to head the department with over 36,000 uniformed officers during his campaign. The sudden resignation was announced at City Hall on Monday afternoon.

"I want to thank Police Commissioner Sewell for her devotion over the last 18 months and her steadfast leadership," Adams said in a statement. He added, "Her efforts played a leading role in this administration's tireless work to make New York City safer."

Sewell did not explain her abrupt departure in her resignation letter to the mayor.

As Bloomberg suggested, there could have been an internal power struggle between Sewell and Philip Banks III, who was appointed Deputy Mayor for Public Safety.

Questions have swirled for months about whether Sewell's authority was being undermined by Adams. He appointed Philip Banks III as deputy mayor for public safety, creating what was effectively another senior-level layer of supervision over the city's law enforcement agencies.

The New York Post also noted an internal 'power struggle.'
