Driving in, I just listened to a radio segment talking about a case of an AI-generated voice recording of someone's daughter. The recording claimed that "she" had been kidnapped and needed a ransom payment. Then it was sent to her mother. No details, but apparently the plot was foiled and the guy found. He wasn't charged because "no crime was committed." I think the girl or woman in the segment was crying about the dangers of AI, etc.

Feels like narrative shielding being rolled out, i.e. Biden tapes or Weiner laptop material.
