Joe Biden on Tuesday afternoon walked by a group of reporters after delivering remarks at the Chiefs of Mission reception in the East Room.

A reporter ambushed Joe Biden and asked him about the Ukraine bribery scheme alleging he received a $5 million bribe from Mykola Zlochevsky, the Ukrainian oligarch who runs Burisma Holdings.

Senator Grassley on Monday revealed the Ukrainian foreign national in the Biden-Burisma bribe scheme has 17 audio recordings of Joe and Hunter Biden he kept as an “insurance policy.”

“According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses fifteen audio recordings of phone calls between him and Hunter Biden. According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses two audio recordings of phone calls between him and then Vice President Joe Biden. These recordings were allegedly kept as a sort of insurance policy for the foreign national in case that he got into a tight spot.

“The 1023 also indicates that then Vice President Joe Biden may have been involved in Burisma hiring Hunter Biden.”

''WASHINGTON — President Biden acted amused Tuesday when asked about the alleged existence of audio recordings of himself and the Ukrainian businessman who allegedly bribed him while he was vice president.''

The Post asked Biden as he left an event with US diplomats in the White House East Room.

— then seemed to chuckle to himself and shook his head as he turned to walk away without saying a word.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) revealed Monday that a paid FBI source said the same Ukrainian businessman who allegedly paid $5 million apiece in bribes to then-Vice President Biden and his son Hunter in 2015 and 2016 said that he had 15 audio recordings of Hunter and two of Joe Biden that he kept as “insurance.”

Grassley accused the FBI of redacting information about the tapes from an informant file that the bureau allowed House Oversight Committee members to read last week.

It’s unclear if the FBI has possession of any of the alleged tapes.

As Biden continued walking with his back turned to the press Tuesday evening, he answered “no” to a CNN reporter’s request for comment on the arraignment of former President Donald Trump on charges related to mishandling classified records.

Many elected Republicans said that the Justice Department’s treatment of Trump sharply contrasts with its treatment of the Bidens.

The informant file accusing Biden of bribery was created in June 2020 after the FBI discovered information provided in 2017 by the same longtime informant. The document received public attention this year when a whistleblower contacted Grassley, who then told House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.).

The informant file alleges that the Bidens were paid bribes to aid the interests of Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky, according to lawmakers who read it. Burisma hired Hunter to serve on the company’s board beginning in April 2014 as his vice president father took over the Obama administration’s Ukraine portfolio. Former White House stenographer Mike McCormick says Joe Biden pushed US support for Kyiv’s natural gas industry just days after Hunter quietly joined Burisma.

Biden on Thursday attempted to laugh off the bribery allegation when The Post asked about the claim by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) that the file contained “damning evidence” that the commander-in-chief “sold out his country.”

“Where’s the money?” Biden replied, quickly adding: “I’m joking, it’s a bunch of malarkey.”

House Republicans who read the informant file said last week that it describes how the elder Biden allegedly pushed for the ouster of Ukrainian prosecutor-general Viktor Shokin, who was fired in 2016, in return for the payment. The informant file also makes reference to Burisma seeking to partner with or buy a US energy business, they said.

Hunter Biden has been under investigation for about five years by the US Attorney’s Office in Delaware for alleged tax fraud, illegal foreign lobbying, money laundering, and lying about his drug use on a gun purchase form.

— featuring slow-walked decision-making, “preferential treatment” and alleged false testimony to Congress about Weiss’ ability to independently bring charges.

Hunter reportedly paid about $2 million in unpaid federal taxes last year, with the money said to have come from his “sugar brother” Kevin Morris, a wealthy Hollywood lawyer. The payment does not absolve him of the original non-payment.

In September, 33 Senate Republicans called on Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint Weiss as special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden. On Tuesday, three Senate Republicans sent Garland a letter demanding a special counsel with a broader charge of looking into Joe Biden’s role in his family’s foreign business dealings.

What does one say to comfort a grieving parent in the immediate wake of a daughter’s death — especially when her passing came by bullet in a school shooting that claimed her life and the lives of 16 others, while injuring a dozen others?

On February 16, as Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and General Authority Seventy Jörg Klebingat visited the home of Latter-day Saints Ryan and Kelly Petty, they pointed the family to the comforting Christian doctrines of God’s omniscience and the reality of life and joy in the world to come. The Petty’s youngest daughter, Alaina, was fatally wounded in the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

“[They told us that] although what happened last Wednesday was a surprise and a shock to us, it was not a surprise to our Heavenly Father — nothing is a surprise to Him and Alaina is continuing on,” Ryan Petty said. “[They also said] although we're sad here, across the veil there are no tears — there she is not sad, she has a different perspective than we do. I'm sure she misses us like we miss her. She now has the different perspective that allows her to miss us but not to be sad. And that meant a lot to Kelly and me.”

Alaina and two classmates killed in the shooting were cadets in the school's Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps and have received the Medal of Heroism for their actions in the shooting. Alaina also loved to serve in other ways, with her friends, even engaging in Mormon Helping Hands cleanup efforts in 2017 after Hurricane Irma.

“There’s a great group of young women in our [congregation] that she served with, and they found great joy in helping those that had lost almost everything [in the hurricane] sort through what was left, figure out what was salvageable, figure out what needed to be thrown away, and do that in a very tender and caring way,” Ryan said.

He also expressed thanks to be on the receiving end of sensitive, personal service from top Church leaders when they needed it most.

“To have Elder Stevenson and Elder Klebingat come and minister to us personally in our time of need was — well, we're just so grateful for that.” Ryan added.

Prior to visiting the Pettys, Elder Stevenson and Elder Klebingat ministered to Latter-day Saint Madeleine (Maddy) Wilford and her family in the intensive care unit of the Broward County North Hospital. Maddy was shot twice — one bullet to a shoulder and another to her back — and underwent three surgeries. Miraculously, she was released from the hospital February 21.

Maddy said she found important comfort in the apostolic blessing Elder Stevenson gave her and her family during the visit. “It was very spiritual and [there was] an immense amount of peace throughout the room,” she said. "The peace I felt really helped."
