gasoline is easy to store in very large amounts in underground tanks.
the reason that they want the houses to have ev charger is because they own the tech and want to replace gasoline as the smart way to run a rig.
if you have a motor-rig, they want it to be electric.

gasoline only burns as a vapor. It's actually very safe to carry around and to store it.

if the electric cars were like the electric trollys used to be, where no battery is needed, and they run on a road with a tether to a powered line above, or below, like slot cars, they would be very useful in cities. They would be a lot safer, a lot lighter, and actually make sense for use in a place where air pollution is a problem.
then when you get back to the edge of town

maybe there would be trains that would go between the various electrified cities and you could commute by driving onto one of those, back to your suburb or whereever, like a ferry boat.
