On Tuesday, Rep. Luna announced that the House would vote to censure and fine Rep. Schiff this week.

According to the office of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), a procedural vote on the measure is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Any Republican who doesn’t vote for the resolution is exposing their real colors as members of the Deep State.

Luna argues that his behavior represents a betrayal of public trust and undermines the integrity of the legislative process.

“Representative Schiff exploited his position on HPSCI (House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence) to promote and excuse abusive intelligence investigations of Americans for political purposes,” Luna declared, making clear her indignation over the actions of her colleague.

“The American taxpayers shelled out $32 million to fund an investigation into collusion launched as a result of Representative Schiff’s lies, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information,” said Luna.

The representative from Florida called for Schiff to be held financially accountable, proposing that Schiff should bear the burden of $16 million, half of the total investigation cost. This suggestion comes following an investigation conducted by the Committee on Ethics, which found that Schiff lied, misrepresented, and misused sensitive information.

On Wednesday, Adam Schiff was not CENSORED or CONDEMNED for his actions in the Russia Hoax. The resolution has failed in the GOP-controlled House.

Federal Agencies Admit To $3 Trillion In Improper Payments Since 2004

So, what government program is running well?

Our OpenTheBooks.com auditors quantified the improper and mistaken payments admitted to by the 17 largest federal agencies. It amounts to a staggering $2.9 trillion since 2004, when the totals are adjusted for inflation.

Last year, in 2022, improper and mistaken federal payments totaled $247 billion. That’s about $20.5 billion per month, or more than $675 million every, single day.

What exactly is an improper payment? Federal law defines the term as “payments made by the government to the wrong person, in the wrong amount, or for the wrong reason.”

In other words, a corner grocery store has better accounting controls than our $6.82 trillion U.S. federal government had in 2021.

Pandemic Pinnacle

As the perennial debt ceiling debate raged on inside the Beltway last month, some politicians continued suggesting that even minor spending reductions would be some sort of crisis. But our latest research makes it clear: there is a staggering amount of waste and mistakes to rein in.

The worst year on record was 2021, at the height of the Covid pandemic, when $281 billion was paid out incorrectly. However, in 2022, because of Covid protocols, agencies just weren’t counting some of the mistakes. According to the Government Accountability Office, some programs were “risk-susceptible” as money for Covid aid was quickly shoveled out by Congress. So, the total improper payments certainly would have rivaled the previous worst year ever.

The mistakes since 2004 run at an average of more than $150 billion per year, or more than $400 million paid incorrectly every day.

In 2022, the incorrect payments totaled $1,673 for every individual tax return filed that year. (167,915,264, according to the IRS). They amounted to $846 for every man, woman, and child in the country.

So, the government wasted $3,384 for every family of four – an amount equal to two average mortgage payments. (331,893,745, U.S. pop in 2021, from U.S. Census Bureau website).

Revelations that the FBI improperly used a foreign surveillance tool to spy on nearly 20,000 campaign donors have prompted outrage from a key Democratic lawmaker as Congress mulls whether to renew the program or let it expire.

During a Tuesday hearing, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin excoriated the bureau for its improper use of a pivotal surveillance tool, saying "[s]ince the last reauthorization of Section 702, many violations of the constitutional, statutory, and court-imposed restrictions on 702 have come to light," according to the Epoch Times.

"These searches have affected all manner of Americans, such as individuals listed in police homicide reports, including victims, next of kin, and witnesses," he continued. "One hundred thirty-three people were [queried] during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protest when, as the Justice Department itself concluded, quote, 'There was no specific factual basis to think the searches would turn up the foreign intelligence.'"

A recent report from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court revealed that Section 702 had also been used against protesters and in connection with domestic drug and gang violence related incidents.

The FBI, and the intelligence community as a whole, has authority to gather information related to foreign intelligence under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), though that power is limited to surveilling "[n]on-U.S. persons, [l]ocated abroad, [w]ho are expected to possess, receive, or communicate foreign intelligence information," the Office of the Director of National Intelligence states.

Reports emerged in May, however, that the bureau had improperly accessed the Section 702 intelligence database 278,000 times. Of those, roughly 19,000 queries saw campaign donors as the subject, of which only eight were eligible for such an inquiry under Section 702 guidelines.

China likely sending military personnel into US, Homeland chair says

Green said he expects a classified briefing on the matter in the near future.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn., on Wednesday said China is likely sending military personnel into the United States across the southern border.

At a press conference announcing an investigation into Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Green said there are "Chinese Nationals, many of whom are military-aged men" with ties to the Chinese Communist Party who have crossed the southern border and been released into the United States.

"We have no idea who these people are and it's very likely, using Russia's template of sending military personnel into Ukraine, China is doing the same in the United States," Green also said.

The revelation came from a Border Patrol sector chief, Green said, adding that he expects a classified briefing on the matter in the near future.

The House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday released a preliminary report on the border stating that apprehensions of Chinese nationals at the border have skyrocketed.

Overall, at the southern border, nearly 10,000 Chinese migrants were encountered at the border from October 2022 through April 2023, per the latest federal data. In comparison, during last fiscal year, which ran from October 2021 through September 2022, less than 2,200 Chinese migrants were encountered at the border.

Reserve Bank of Australia admits it underpaid more than 1000 staff

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has admitted to underpaying more than 1000 current and former staff members.

A review conducted by the bank with auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers found that 1173 employees were owed a collective $1.15 million.

The RBA said most of the underpayments were a result of incorrectly calculating termination benefits to former staff.

An RBA spokesperson said the bank was in the process of repaying the impacted workers and had informed the relevant ombudsman and union.

"Following an internal review of the bank's more complex remuneration arrangements, the bank identified issues related to the remuneration of some current and former bank employees," the spokesperson said.

"The issues mainly relate to the way payments for annual leave, long service leave and rostered days off have been calculated for some employees.

"The bank has completed a comprehensive review, with support from PwC, of the issues identified and has notified both the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Finance Sector Union.

"All impacted current and former employees have been notified.

"The bank has commenced processing payments and is working to finalise payment details with the remainder of those impacted so it can make payments to them promptly."
