Former President Barack Obama suggested in a new interview the development of "digital fingerprints" to combat misinformation and distinguish between true and misleading news for consumers.
Obama sat down with his former White House senior adviser David Axelrod for a conversation on the latter's podcast, "The Axe Files," on CNN Audio. During the interview, Axelrod noted he's seen "misinformation, disinformation, [and] deepfakes" targeting Obama.
"As I've told people, because I was the first digital president when I left office, I was probably the most recorded, filmed, photographed human in history, which is kind of a weird thing," responded Obama. "But just the odds are that I was. As a consequence, there's a lot of raw material there."

It’s showtime – and both lab leak enthusiasts and those who believe in natural origins (the ‘zoonati’) are nervous.
No later than Sunday, and perhaps sooner, America’s director of National Intelligence must, by law, “declassify” and make public all “information relating to the origins of Covid-19”.
It could be a huge moment, or a terrible anticlimax.
By the time the deadline is reached, it will have been 1,265 days since news of a “mystery pneumonia” first emerged from Wuhan – and for much of that time a small group of US intelligence officials have anonymously been briefing that the virus came from a lab.
It would not be the first time a pandemic had been caused by a laboratory-related accident: the 1977-1979 Russian Flu pandemic is widely thought to have been sparked by the accidental release of a virus used in a US flu vaccine that had not been fully deactivated.

DOJ seeks court order to stop Trump from releasing classified materials
The Department of Justice on Friday asked a judge to bar former President Donald Trump from having unrestricted access to certain classified materials amid the ongoing prosecution over his alleged mishandling of such materials.
Specifically, the DOJ requests that Trump himself only be permitted to review 31 classified documents pertinent to the DOJ's case while in the presence of his attorneys, according to The Hill. The DOJ is not seeking to restrict Trump's access to the records he stored at Mar-a-Lago.
"Defendants shall only have access to Discovery Materials under the direct supervision of Defense Counsel or a member of Defense Counsel’s staff. Defendants shall not retain copies of Discovery Material. Defendants may take notes regarding Discovery Materials, but such notes shall be stored securely by Defense Counsel," the DOJ motion reads. The order would further bar the publication of the materials on social media or their provision to news outlets without the government's approval or a court order.
Judge Bruce Reinhart, who initially approved the search warrant for the FBI's August 2022 raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, will review the order. Reinhart is not the judge handling the case but Judge Aileen Cannon, the Trump appointee overseeing the matter, referred the DOJ motion to him.

To require the Director of National Intelligence to declassify
information relating to the origin of COVID-19, and for other

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled, <<NOTE: COVID-19 Origin
Act of 2023. 50 USC 3161 note.>
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023''.
SEC. 2. SENSE OF CONGRESS.
It is the sense of Congress that–
(1) identifying the origin of Coronavirus Disease 2019
(COVID-19) is critical for preventing a similar pandemic from
occurring in the future;
(2) there is reason to believe the COVID-19 pandemic may
have originated at the Wuhan Institute of Virology; and
(3) the Director of National Intelligence should declassify
and make available to the public as much information as possible
about the origin of COVID-19 so the United States and like-
minded countries can–
(A) identify the origin of COVID-19 as expeditiously
as possible, and
(B) use that information to take all appropriate
measures to prevent a similar pandemic from occurring
again.

I got COVID in late 2021 after dodging it for about a year, got it 3 more times after that. The first time i got covid it fucked my sense of smell and taste up to this day(everything smelled and tasted like a dead body, chicken especially) and it's fucked with my body heavily because I can't eat like I used to, dropped 20 lbs and I can't recover.
They will owe the American public / the world whether they like it or not.
one weird thing to note is that fruits and veggies all taste like how they are supposed to taste, meats and other processed foods taste like shit to me.
