A personal story to anons so you know I don't have sauce.
I ordered 1/4 beef from a local (close by) Rancher and it was delivered today.
The owner delivered it himself and talked to me for a long time. He was a regular person with a good heart. Yes missing teeth. For those who make fun of that, you have something more than teeth missing and I hate that for you.
He is 3rd Generation rancher and his family couldn't earn enough to make the bills so he and his brothers worked outside the ranch as well when young to pay the family bills. After he finished school, he told his dad he wanted to start a change where the ranch shipped direct to people on bulk orders.
He discussed the processing end of his business and he pays that location huge fees to process it. He said during covid he worked there full time ( no pay) to be sure his product was handled properly. He works there 3 days a week still to ensure the same thing.
he told of the flat fee charged per animal. It is the same no matter what animal. ( Cow vs Pig)
He explained why it is so difficult to find chicken this same way. Tylson has blocked all poultry farmers from processing. They are the 1 source for chicken now. He said there are farms that will sell you the chicken but you have to process it yourself. He said people won't do that so the small chicken farms only sell eggs.
He said people have to vote Republican or we will have a bigger problem on our hands. I didn't have the heart to tell him about the RINO effect. I did however tell him that if he fins pressure from the Government, he needs to notify the people. I tld him farmers have our back and we will have theirs. Call on us if they need us.
