The Constitution is the LAW TO THE GOVERNMENT

We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure Prosterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.

Article. I. Section. 1 All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

People have rights which they entrust to the protection of government.

The Federal Government has no rights, it only has the power which “we the people” have delegated to it via the Constitution.

Remember this is about delegating powers:

>Delegata potestas non potest delegari, which mean:

‘no delegated power can be further delegated’. ( Congress cannot ask the President or the Judicial system to set laws)

 

The founders believed that the purpose of government is to secure the unalienable rights of the people.
