>You are pro-child-killing.

YOUR words, NOT mine.

i'm ANTI-gov't meddling in matters that it knows nothing about.

i'm ANTI draconian laws that will only cause MORE death and suffering here in the REAL world.

i'm PRO realistic compromise to that will allow first term abortions and at the same time put an end to late term abortions and the black market harvesting of tissue and organs.

i did NOT promote abortions.

i object to YOU and your bigoted self-righteousness.

you just took the Lord's name in vain.

and you didn't even capitalize it.

do the rest of us have the right to condemn you and punish you for that?

i'm NOT backpedaling. i have been 100% consistent in what i wrote.

the shillfags attacking me are the ones twisting my words.

and since YOU once again try to bring YOUR religion into this, let's have a closer look, shall we?

Christians celebrate Christmas, the BIRTH of Jesus. there is NOT a holiday to commemorate His conception.

after the crucifiction, Jesus was put into a tomb (womb) for three days (trimesters), after which he emerged (was REBORN) and ascended to eternal life in Heaven.

Easter commemorates the day He was REBORN, and NOT the day he was entombed (planted in the womb).

the implications are crystal clear and unambiguous to all with a brain. whoever wrote your precious bible believed that LIFE BEGINS AT BIRTH.

oh… so now it's a distinction?

so you allow for the possibility that the soul might NOT inhabit a single cell immediately following conception? in fact it might not inhabit the flesh until AFTER birth (for all you know). and since YOU are not God, and it is written that "thou shalt not judge others," where do you get off deciding what others should do and who should be punished, when CLEARLY there is NOT a definitive guideline in your precious bible.

FWIW… i've read the bible (have you?). and in my seven decades on this earth, i've read more books that you could begin to count, include HUNDREDS of religious texts from cultures all over the world, and texts written by prophets and seers from every corner of the earth. and in those texts, there are more than a few that dealt with this precise topic of when does the soul depart Heaven to inhabit the flesh, and there is near universal consensus that it is a matter of choice for each soul, but that it NEVER occurs immediately after conception, because the structure is TOO SIMPLE to contain something as complex as a soul, and that in some cases, the soul waits until AFTER physical birth.

but NONE of this is relevant. the ONLY thing that is relevant is that regardless of what ANYONE here believes, NONE OF US KNOW FOR CERTAIN, and therefore NONE OF US are competent to make absolute laws on the matter.

i am opposed to abortion, but i also recognize that i do NOT have the moral authority to condemn anyone who disagrees. and i would MUCH PREFER to see a compromise that puts an end to late term abortions, rather than a total ban that will only cause all abortions to go underground, resulting in more deaths at the hands of back alley butchers, and more late term abortions to feed the black market.
