Former Navy officer, US congressman calls for deployment of nuclear sub to search for missing Titanic tour

Why would this guy want a nuke sub there?

It is not as if they don't know where the Titanic wreck is.

There is also the submarines 'mothership' right above the dive location.

This strikes me as an excuse to put a nuke sub in that location but for what purpose.

Agreed. Strikes me he is one of those officers who was promoted far above their ability.

It would make more sense if he asked for a dive rescue vessel.

Don't know what he thinks a ballistic missile or a hunter/killer sub can do to rescue the missing sub.

>Deliberately sunk deliberately sailed with insufficient number of life boats?

I believe that the ship actually had more lifeboats than the regulations at the time required.

Regulations changed post sinking due to the obvious failings.

My parents lived through WW2 rationing in UK.

They grew stuff including chickens and rabbits in a 100 by 30 foot garden to supplement the rationed food supplies in the shops.

They traded excess to vary their diet etc with various neighbours who had goats, ducks, turkeys, or grew other stuff.
