Gateway Pundit appears to be making a huge controversy out of nothing much.

Gateway claims that Taiwan's public opinion is shifting in favor of China.

They offer two big pieces of evidence: 1) Kim Dotcom says so, and 2, they have a hard-to-translate poll:

https://www.tpof.org/%E5%9C%96%E8%A1%A8%E5%88%86%E6%9E%90/%E6%94%BF%E9%BB%A8%E7%AB%B6%E7%88%AD%E3%80%81%E7%B8%BD%E7%B5%B1%E8%81%B2%E6%9C%9B%E8%88%872024%E5%8F%B0%E7%81%A3%E7%B8%BD%E7%B5%B1%E5%A4%A7%E9%81%B8%EF%BC%882023%E5%B9%B46%E6%9C%8820%E6%97%A5%EF%BC%89/

So if you read a bit of Chinese, you will see the key term is 滿意, meaning "satisfied." The poll is just saying some Taiwanese voters are satisfied and some are not. The poll does not appear to say that Taiwanese people suddenly want to be ruled by Beijing. Anyone who is fluent in traditional Chinese characters is welcome to comment on how to translate the page.

Kim Dotcom also cites this:

Kim Dotcom doesn't know much about Taiwanese politics, apparently. This new third party could take power away from the KMT. But the KMT is the most pro-Beijing party in Taiwan! So a loss of power of the KMT is not good for Beijing.
